I actually really dislike the kudos per chapter idea. It would basically mean that a 100 chapter fic with 1 kudos per chapter would come up higher in search than a long 1 chapter fic with 75 kudos, etc etc. Every search would just be mountains of long ass and (probably poorly written) fic instead of the Real Good Shit.

Well well WELL. So my bookmarks are generally kind of lacking and surprisingly G-rated from what I remember that reading spree to be like, but to start you off:

Martyrs Never Last This Long by out_there is Peter/Neal and Peter/Neal/El and it’s Mozzie POV which is 100% fantastic. It's early-season and lighthearted and basically exactly what I go to White Collar for: Mozzie’s righteous exasperation.

World Tour by cherryfeather is the fic that made me an OT3 shipper, because I was having all these “idk... but... consent...?” kind of feelings about Peter/Neal and this side-steps it by being a future-fic and very much in keeping with the characters and style of the show. 

The Right Way to Fall by Sholio is the guardian angel AU that I mentioned in tags because I love it so much. Sholio is a prolific White Collar author -- not a lot of porn and mostly canon pairings or gen, but if you’re into episode-related fic, wacky AUs, and h/c tropes, take a look through their catalog. 

hhhhh WELCOME TO HELL. i'm gonna focus on crozier/fitzjames centric stuff bc that's what i'm most familiar with, but fyi there's a TON of amazing rarepair and gen content out there too if u want to branch out. one of the joys of this fandom is getting into characters/ships that you're initially like "wait WHO??" about just bc other people are so passionate and thoughtful about them!!

if you're in the mood for fix it you can't go wrong with this. or if you want to be sad this one destroyed me recently. if you wanna split the difference here's some pleasantly achy afterlife fic.

we got time loop aus, modern aus, accidental marriage aus, STAR TREK AUS. we got pre-series hookups, early series hatesex, tender mid-series boning, and mostly dead but still having fun. i have a soft spot for this lengthy sweet thoughtful series about the two of them figuring out their identities and settling into a long term relationship, with all the complications therein.
