I love the way Jeff looks at Homer with disdain throughout the show. That look makes even me uncomfortable.
I was re-watching ‘Avengers -Endgame’ and I noticed a certain character appearing briefly in the background, one Howard the Duck, carrying some kind of gun. That is all. This has been an installment of ‘Useless Observations™’.
Is that baby Kimura sweatdropping at the idea of his own name.
the shitty thing about trying to lose weight is being hungry all the time. i mean, i know losing weight requires effort, but come on

Yoo... they specifically put Kayano with this dialogue. This is taken from Ch 89 (aka. The Code Name Chapter/ Kimura's Arc), and Kayano didn't have much to do that chapter. Hmmm, is this Matsui hinting how "Kayano" is a self-given name, and how Akari ended up settling into her Kayano persona...
More random observations
I just reread the first Nagisa VS Takaoka part of the manga and decided to take a look at the reactions of the students when facing Takaoka's brutality.
As you can see, these are some students' reactions to Maehara being hurt by Takaoka. First of all, we have the very assertive Isogai. He has one hand on Maehara's back to support/comfort his best friend. He looks alarmed and angered, his stance showing he's ready to do something, or at least he instinctively wants to do something. Kimura looks similar, and his pose suggests he is launching himself forward. Kimura, being also an assertive student, probably wants to help Maehara/ face Takaoka too, but Isogai beats him to it.
Sugaya, with his jerky movements, is like "WHAT THE HELL" and looks like he'd just backed away. Fuwa has his hands over her mouth. She is obviously shocked and fearful. Unlike Isogai and Kimura, Sugaya and Fuwa don't "act immediately".
I think Okano and Hayami have similar expressions here. Instead of being like "WTF??" then go "oh shit what do we do in this situation". They are alert and on guard, but don't act immediately. They are probably ready to, however judging from Hayami's personality she would observe some more first.
This scene is when Takaoka challenges them to hit him once with a knife. If they succeed, Takaoka would leave them alone.
Sugino and Kimura are all pumped up to face Takaoka. Sugino's like stretching his wrists and "hehehe bring it on bro". Kimura wields a knife and straight up goes "FIGHT ME BISH". Ahh, look at them go.
Maehara has the skeptical, slightly worried face of "??? What's going on?? Didn't this dude try to kill me?? Is he really gonna keep his promise??". And Fuwa is SO excited. She probably believes they can defeat Takaoka. Knowing her fourth wall breaking skills, she might already have a feeling Nagisa could hit Takaoka with the knife. Kataoka looks sorta similar to Maehara... worried, but facing the enemy seriously.
I think it's nice how little details show a bit of the characters' personalities. Isogai, Kimura, Sugino are all assertive students. Hayami is one of those "supporter" students, so it's reasonable that she doesn't immediately jump into action.
... Additionally, Karma isn't here. It's probably a shame because he missed out a lot of good stuff (but lmao he kinda deserves it for skipping class), but I suppose Matsui wanted to give more spotlight to Nagisa and his assassination abilities? And to show that Karma likes to skip class?
More useless observations
Look at the way the books are stacked inside Mimura, Hayami and Okajima's desks. The boys' books (especially Okajima's) are more messily stacked than Hayami's. So does this hint Mimura and Okajima are less organized?
By the way, like Hayami, Yada changes her scrunchies according to different uniforms. Red for winter uniform, blue for summer uniform. I can see why they're friends.
Back to the desk issue. According to this screenshot, everyone shown here has a generally neat stack of books. So are Okajima and Mimura just... really bad at stacking books? Or did the animators pay more attention to the first pic as it is a closeup unlike the "generic classroom shot" of the second picture.
This screenshot shows it even more clearly than the one above. The books are all neatly stacked, including the ones in Hayami's desk (the table between Nakamura and Okuda), which shows a little bit of consistency, I guess.
The above screenshot has a nice record of what pencil cases the class has. Its just mostly red, yellow, blue or grey.
And it's interesting to see how the class react individually to Nakamura getting first place in the exam. We have the shook ones, like Kataoka and Nagisa, who actually stood up to express their surprise. And we have the congratulatory ones like Okajima and Kimura. Kayano and Kurahashi have similar reactions of "wowww Rio-chan you did it!!". And most of the Terasaka gang is just like... chill. But Takebayashi seems to be clapping.
