Pizza flavored cake (if it’s in there)
That's a tricky one!
I think the route to go would be "pizza ingredient adjacent" to keep it sufficiently cake-like. For a base, I'm thinking a cornbread mix. Cornbread is cake-like, at least to me. Cornbread can also be used in both a savory or sweet way. And that coincides with the two ways I think pizza flavored cake could go.
For the sweeter way:
Add honey to the cornbread mix
Do layers (what we see on the show appears to be a layered cake), and in between layers put some sort of tomato+fruit jam. Tomatoes naturally have a sweetness, and adding another fruit to bring out the sweetness would work well I think. My first thought was figs or dates. Something with a good amount of sugar to bump up the sweetness factor
(if you REALLY want to go wild and dangerous, you could do some tomato paste in a chocolate sauce)
A cream cheese frosting
The show has pepperoni on top. The way to get around that is to do what I always shout at the TV when I'm watching a cooking show and people are given meat in a sweet round: CANDY IT! Candying works well for bacon, and I think it could work well for pepperoni, too. I believe candying works by coating in brown sugar and then baking it. Despite how many times I tell the chefs on TV to do it, I've never done it lol
For the more savory way:
Leave the cornbread mix as is without adding honey or extra sweetener
Put sun-dried tomatoes into the cornbread mix; maybe also throw some cheese in the batter as well to up the cheesy flavor
I'm a bit stumped on the "cheese frosting" situation for this, though. Maybe a good cheese sauce with mozzarella in it? A whipped cheese blend spread of some sort (probably have cream cheese in the blend)? Just sprinkle it on top and pop it back in the oven so that it can melt?
And then just put pepperonis on top :)
(The cake-flavored pizza, meanwhile, is v straightforward. It's been done before. I greatly enjoy eating it.)
