An urmahlullu is a type of centaur found in Ancient Assyrian and Mesopotamian art. It is most often depicted as possessing the lower body and four legs of a lion, with the torso and arms of a human. Sometimes, it also has the head of a lion.

In Mesopotamian mythology, the urmahlullu is a protective spirit, and its image was used to ward off demons, particularly Šulak, the demon of the privy. As such, statues of urmahlullu were sometimes placed outside lavatories.

Fluff (Urmahlullu)

For anyone who may not know, an urmahlullu is like a centaur, but instead of being half-horse from the waist down, they are half-lion.

They are proud hunters. Traditionally, to show their prowess, they would drag a kill to a potential partner, either to initiate a courting process or to prove that they are still valuable providers. One that is dating you probably knows enough about humans at this point to realize that bringing dead animals to you will not have the desired effect.

Instead, they butcher the meat, store it for later, and give you items made from its skin, sinews, bones, et cetera.

Very protective partners. Will growl at anyone who is making you uncomfortable if words don’t convince them to back off.

Most LOVE to cuddle. They insist on being the big spoon and will either cuddle using their arms or lazily drape a paw over your side.

You’re the only person who’s allowed to rub their underbelly and you should because it is very soft and their reaction is adorable and if you don’t you will miss out my friend.

They will nip at your ear if they’re feeling playful. Not hard, by any means, but it will get your attention.

Cucumbers freak them out and make for a good practical joke once you both are comfortable with each other.
