They hadn’t even called her. Her sister had died two days ago and Zaina had just been sitting in her apartment going about her daily life as if the only thing she had to worry about was whether everyone paid their rent by the eleventh. She’d gotten a text from a girl she hadn’t talked to since high school sending her condolences for Layla’s passing, and when she’d called the girl to tell her that Layla was alive and well, and going back to work the next week, she was directed to her sister’s obituary and her entire life crumbled.
She wasn’t even particularly close with her little sister, but Layla had always looked up to her, and when Zaina had been kicked out of her parents’ home shortly after high school graduation, it was Layla who had kept in touch. Even though she had Eric, Layla had been the one who reminded her that once upon a time, her life had been much more normal than it was now.
Now... now her parents hadn’t even told her she was gone. That she’d apparently been hospitalized again... Zaina didn’t even get to say goodbye. She was so overwhelmed with anger that she didn’t know what to do with herself. Her apartment was a mess and she was pretty sure she’d broken the window with the force in which she threw a hammer at it, but she didn’t care.
She stormed out the door and over to Eric’s apartment, using the key she had to let herself in. When she finally reached his bedroom she was unsurprised to find him in bed, naked and asleep with a woman on either side. It was Eric, it was normal for him. As was his cock, hard from whatever drug he’d probably been doing earlier. That’s what she needed. Him, yes, but to be able to ride him and focus on the intense feeling of being completely full and not on the fact that her life was falling apart completely.
She started to undress as soon as she entered the room. Even though she could hear Eric stirring, possibly even talking to her, all she can focus on is needing to feel something other than the emptiness she feels right now. Nothing has ever hurt her this much, and if anybody’s going to be able to make it go away, it’s him.
