The resignations come less than a week after the Trump administration sanctioned the U.N. Palestinian rights envoy over an anti-Israel press
by Alana Goodman
All three commissioners leading the United Nationsâ anti-Israel inquisition panel resigned this week, just days after the State Department sanctioned a pro-Hamas U.N. investigator.
The U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory's chairwoman Navi Pillay, commissioner Miloon Kothari, and commissioner Chris Sidoti all announced they are stepping down, according to the watchdog group U.N. Watch.
The exodus comes less than a week after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced U.S. sanctions against U.N. special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese for her "illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt [International Criminal Court] action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives."
Albanese, as the Washington Free Beacon reported earlier this month, wrote "threatening letters" to a variety of companies across the globe in which she warned them to cut business ties with Israel or face "potential criminal liability."
The mass departure could mark the end of the U.N. Commission of Inquiry, founded after a request from the Palestinian delegation and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2021 to probe the "root causes" of the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Supporters of Israel have accused the commission of extreme bias, noting that the appointed leaders have called Israel an "apartheid" state and accused Jews of controlling the media.
While Pillay attributed her resignation to "age, medical issues, and the weight of several other commitments," U.N. Watch welcomed the departures and said the "architects of the U.N.âs anti-Israel inquisition are fleeing the ship."
"The resignation of all three commissioners is long overdue," U.N. Watch executive director Hillel Neuer said in a statement. "This was a commission born in prejudiceâdesigned to target Israel, while ignoring Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Authority. Its members were selected precisely for their hostility to the Jewish state."
The hostility Neuer referenced includes Pillayâs accusation of "apartheid" against Israel and Kothariâs claim that social media is "controlled largely by the Jewish lobby."
Albanese, the sanctioned U.N. official, has also minimized Hamas terrorism, accused the CIA and Mossad of orchestrating the 2015 terrorist attack by ISIS in Paris, and said the United States is "subjugated by the Jewish lobby."

Dear Sarah Beamish, Chair of Amnesty International: You're a lawyer in Toronto, and I'm a lawyer originally from Montreal. It's in the spirit of our mutual respect for the rule of law and fundamental human rights that I write you today. For 28 days, Mr. Rami Aman of Gaza has been rotting in Hamas prison for the crime of holding a video call with fellow peace activists in Israel. For 28 days, we urged your organization to speak outânot least because your former Amnesty International researcher was the one who reported him. (For details, please see our newly published Timeline: unwatch.org/the-disappearance-of-rami-aman-amnesty-international-timeline/) Finally, after we tweeted and appealed to Amnesty nearly every day for the past month, yesterday the organization broke its silence. Amnesty issued a statement declaring Rami Aman to be a prisoner of conscience, and called for his immediate and unconditional release. We welcomed the statement. But let's be honest with each other. The Amnesty statement buried Rami Aman's name at the bottom, after expounding on four other cases of people who have already been freed. The statement enables Amnesty to say they've spoken out, even as they have essentially done but the bare minimum. Amnestyâs statement also failed to mention the central role played by your former researcher Hind Khoudary in Rami Amanâs arrest, as reportedďżź by the New York Timesâeven though she had listed Amnesty International as her employer on her Facebook page where she posted vituperative attacks against Rami Aman, tagging Hamas officials to catch their attentionďżź. Letâs be honest with each other. If Amnesty really cared about Rami Amanâs freedom, or for the cause of peace for which he has risked his life, the organization would be actively campaigning as the group knows how to do so wellâwith tweets, petitions, appeals, protests, and more. For example, I remember how in January and February 2018, you dedicated your entire website home page to campaign for a Palestinian named Ahed Tamimi, who was detained for slapping and kicking two Israeli soldiers. She eventually pled guilty to four criminal charges, including assault. I remember how you created posters, petitions, and graphics of Ahed Tamimi, and plastered them all over your social media. So if you truly care about Rami Aman and his freedom, and for his right to life and to be free from Hamas torture, why do you refuse to do even a fraction of what you've done for others, some of them, to put it mildly, who were far less worthy? To help you get started, we've already created and popularized this hashtag for your campaign: #FreeRamiAman. Sincerely, Hillel C. Neuer Executive Director United Nations Watch Geneva, Switzerland

Francesca Albanese: UN-Amt als BĂźhne fĂźr Israel-Hass und Antisemitismus

Rights Group Exposes Palestinian Torture Ahead of First UN Review [2022]
âEvidence continues to emerge of widespread torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of detainees held in Palestinian custody in the West Bank and Gaza,â said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.

Ausarbeitung eines detaillierten Berichts Ăźber die Zusammenarbeit des UNRWA mit der Hamas;
[...]
