But working with my favorite director, Mercy Nompone, has and always will be nothing but an absolute delight. Written by Keely Rozell and filmed by Wesley Kirk, this female-led western is about an unwed girl abandoned by her family who finds the courage to survive after a bloody defeat. Enjoy, y'all!!!

Once again it's time to get those creative juices flowing! This time we're switching it up a bit and hosting our very own film race. No experience necessary, all you need is a great idea. To enter: 1. Fill out this form (untshortfilmclub.com/docfilmrace2014) by Wednesday, June 18 at 11:59pm. If your group is selected, you will receive an confirmation text on Thursday evening. 2. Participants will have from 8am Friday to 5pm Sunday to complete their project. Anything shot outside that time span will not be accepted. 3. If you need equipment, please include what specifically in your form. Equipment will be checked out on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. -Groups can be just one person, but no larger than 5 people. -Must have at least one editor with access to personal editing software. -If you do not have a group but would still like to be a part of the race, send us an email and we’ll assign you to one. 4. Your documentary must be 2-5 minutes. It can detail any aspect of Denton culture (ex. showcasing a local band, a point of interest in the area, a prominent member of the community, etc.) that is specific to your experiences. 5. Submissions and checked-out equipment are due by 5pm Sunday. -Export your project using the H.264 Vimeo HD 720p preset. -Please email a downloadable link of your completed film to [email protected] with the subject line "Team Name - Film Title" -Be sure to include a 3-5 sentence summary of your film in the body of your email. 6. We will hold a screening at 9pm Sunday night, June 22nd, on the Courthouse lawn on the Square. 7. The winning team will receive a $100 amazon gift card. Hurry, time’s running out!

Come catch up with everyone in Short Film Club, and meet the new officers! We’re going to talk about what we’ve all been working on, what we’re going to work on, and what we have planned for next semester. Now that we’re not all busy with school, we’d love to get the whole gang together again and create some great short films over the summer! Also, we'll announce the new committees and those in charge. Come with lots of ideas, see you there!
