I FINALLY got around to making the first fleshed out alien ally of Humanity. I think I did a pretty good job for an introduction Adrannai: A vaguely humanoid race from the far south of the Galaxy, the Adrannai stand at 7ft tall, with lanky arms and legs, and proportionally long phalanges. They have four independent arms, each ending in a four fingered hand, lacking an opposable thumb. Their skeletal system is built to accommodate an very unique circulatory system, relying on four primary hearts to pump normal iron-based blood to each of their limbs, and up to five secondary hearts that feed blood to other vital and non-vital areas. The actual number of hearts can vary among the Adrannai nations, though it is noted that having fewer secondary hearts has actual effects on the Adrannai. Those with five secondary hearts have highly advanced cognitive abilities, rivaling that of the top ten greatest human minds in history. Those with three and four have heightened endurance, being able to run for days on end without tiring. One or two secondary hearts, through some biological process unknown to human medicine, can regulate their internal pressure and oxygen use, allowing them to make spacewalks without any protection from the void. Their homeworld of Adran is a vast desert world, almost four times the size of Earth. Resources such as gold and iron, while still valued, are not seen as precious by the Adrannai. To them, the most precious thing their planet can provide for them is water, with their major cities built around the handful of large oases scattered across the vast deserts. Lesser cities and towns do exist among the deserts, built around the smaller oases or entirely dependent of Hydronators, which pull the oxygen and hydrogen directly from their air to create water. Since their entire civilization is predicated on the continued availability of water, their society is very trade-oriented, with warfare not occurring very often in their history. To the Adrannai, warfare only serves to waste precious resources, and to them, wastefulness is the greatest crime, deserving of a more severe punishment than murder. They barely tolerate the consumerism of Humanity, and demand that any human visitors to their worlds obey their laws concerning waste. Contact with the United Systems occurred in the latter half of the 28th Century, when human colonists upon the world of Uranidon were met by three Adrannai trade ships. Though there was the obvious language barrier, it was clear that these aliens came with no intention of harm. Once the barrier was conquered a year later, extensive negotiations took place between the High Council of Adran and the Grand Congress. To date, the Dominion of Adran, the forty worlds under the control of the Adrannai, is the only alien ally the United Systems has incorporated into itself without some kind of armed conflict. The Dominion was granted free reign to establish trade routes anywhere it wished (which of course led them to establish trade with the Brakians and Avarians under the guise of an independent entity, something the Grand Congress has continued to turn a blind eye towards) and was granted the protection of the armed might of the United Systems, while in return, the Adrannai would supply the usual donation of armed troops to the United Systems Military. While warfare has never been accepted by the Adrannai, they have upheld their agreement, supplying the required two million troops every Earth Standard Year.
