Although, today, that presence just felt tiresome. Valerie checked her capture styler’s readings again. It was not that cold, but it was just wet. Did she feel that. After shivering, Valerie let out a series of four sneezes. She sniffled. “Maybe it’s better to wait at the meadow instead. Allergies wouldn’t be as bad as this.” The ranger started to walk off, but stopped when she thought she saw someone coming from the town.

     “Pickle. How cute.”

“It’s always someone under average that says they’re not short.”

He wasn’t sure how far off he’d wandered until he found himself nearing a small town. It seemed like a dead-end, so he paused to look down its gates without actually entering. He didn’t notice that he wasn’t entirely alone, either.
