So my advice would be to maybe not be picky about where you want to go but just take every opportunity to get experience in the field that you can get your hands on. I think we’re gonna do ours toward the end of next semester (10 weeks, I think). I’ve only reached out to two publishing houses today, so I haven’t gotten any reply yet so I don’t know where I’ll be!

I did an internship in a really small German publishing house this year (with basically just the owner, his sister, and me) that introduced me to the process of setting the pages and designing the book, which I never even thought about before but was soooo much fun! I'll try out some other stuff in my next internship in a bigger publishing house next year (I'll be in the marketing/sales department), but that's currently my favourite :)
That’s so cool! We’re gonna do our internships this spring, and I’ve already emailed the people from today who made me realize what I want to do! We worked with typography last month and also got to bind a book, which was super cool too

Hello fellow publishing studies student! I’d love to work with foreign literature and read and pitch books from other countries (mostly in English, but maybe if I brush up on my Greek and keep learning Italian I could work with that as well) and help decide what books we should translate into Swedish and what would fit the Swedish market! I mostly read in English, so I’ve been sort of worried that that would affect my ability to work with Swedish literature, but this way I can actually work with what suits me best! What are you leaning toward yourself? xx
