Hi I’m Casey and I make sad stories.
Meet Carson Sanford, race car driver, and his best friend, Jake Hayes.
I might be posting some writing about them later but for now have some angst.
And foreshadowing
9 and 18 for the hockey asks :-)
9. Favorite hockey memory?
⤷ my favorite so far is game 4 of sharks/ducks series this year. it was my first playoff game at the tank and the atmosphere was incredible, it gave me chills!! thousands of people chanting “sweep, sweep, sweep” and watching my boys move on to the next round was amazing 😭💕also experiencing the home opening in person was unforgettable, i truly feel like it’s the best arena in the league.
18. Favorite hockey movie?
⤷ i want to say mighty ducks but it reminds me too much of the ducks now lmao so i’m going w miracle!
NYC.
Last night was so great. As a celebration for mom's birthday, we went on the CitySighting Bus tour around NYC & boy, when I tell you it was so nice, it was beautiful.
A lot of us live in New York for our whole lives, yet we don't even know half it's story. The bus tour was epic. Being on the double-decker bus seeing my hometown from a different perspective was just simply amazing. The bus went all around Time Square, down to soho & Brooklyn then back. The tour guide enlightened us on so much history, it was just bananas. We literally walk on these blocks that hold so many crazy ideas & reasonings behind them.
For instance, that big ass NYC Manhattan library on 5th ave with the two Lions in the front. I learned that those two Lions are named Patiences & Fortitude because the President at the time believed that that was what the people needed during the time of the Great Depression. And if you ever go inside, go look for Winnie the Pooh bear because the very 1st one lives right in the library! I learned how they built the Brooklyn Bridge & the great mind behind it. We went past the very first Macy's ever which is right down by 14th street, we walk past that everyday.
It was just nice. My mother enjoyed herself so much, & it was just dope to be together as a family. My brother couldn't make the tour but he did meet up with us at Planet Hollywood for dinner, & the night was just perfect.
We tend to take things so close to us for granted merely because well, it's right there in our faces so the need to appreciate it more isn't as strong. But, after last night I can honestly say that my love for the city has grown so much more. I've always loved this place, but to know that exact story behind the buildings & the people that played a role in making it what it has become- it's just breathtaking.
I suggest everyone make it your business to get on one of those buses & explore. So much we have to see.
Happy Birthday Mommie.
