Unexplained Soundsâ wonderful world exploration continues with a visit to the Balkan region.  The series is now up to either six or seven, depending on whether one counts Visions of Darkness, which is lacking the âAnthologyâ tag but was part of the first bundle to be offered.  An earlier incarnation of this release was the digital-only Balkan experimental survey â Post industrial culture series,Â

Julia is a sound recorded on March 1, 1999 by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA said the source of the sound was most likely a large iceberg that had run aground off Antarctica. It was loud enough to be heard over the entire Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array, with a duration of about 15 seconds. Due to the uncertainty of the arrival azimuth, the point of origin could be between Bransfield Straits and Cape Adare. (x)
Okay so I freaked myself out!
I woke up this morning out of my sleep because I heard a man whisper. Thinking it was my husband I opened my eyes just to see that no one was in bed next to me and I was alone in the room. Chalking it up to me imagining things I close my eyes to fall back asleep. Just as Iâm about to fall asleep I turn my head on my pillow and I hear the same whisper say âgo ahead and do itâ... my eyes shoot open as I definitely didnât imagine it that time, aaaaaand again nothing there. So then I laid in my bed heart racing just trying to calm myself down, trying to convince myself that there has to be a reason Iâm imagining things. Maybe Iâm dreaming about a man whispering and Iâm actually almost asleep when it happens, idk there has to be a logical reason. Well then Iâm like âSarah youâre being ridiculous! Just fall back asleepâ. This time Iâm not even fully asleep and I turn my head and I hear the same voice say âthatâs okayâ. Now my eyes are wide open Iâm freaked the fuck out and itâs safe to say I wonât be going back to sleep anytime soon đł
Update: I did a little digging and apparently this is common... âVoices as you fall asleep or wake up - these are to do with your brain being partly in a dreaming state. The voice might call your name or say something brief. You might also see strange things or misinterpret things you can see. These experiences usually stop as soon as you are fully awake.â. Iâm still not sleeping ever again though k thanks.
