Observations on fiction
Sometimes I read something and it's like being directed on a particularly scenic drive: great vistas, some fun curves to let loose in, but you have a general idea of the road ahead, and then suddenly the author's like: "Turn left here, off the bridge, and follow the signs to Atlantis." And your all, "oh God, oh God, please let this be okay." And then, suddenly your in fucking Atlantis.

Unespected plot twist / Plot twist inaspettato
Sorry, but I’m going to write in Italian
Partiamo dal presupposto che ce ne sono stati un milione nella mia vita di colpi di scena inaspettati, ma il primo che mi viene in mente è del libro che ho letto stamattina. Si chiama Il labirinto dei libri segreti, e a breve scriverò la recensione. Ora, non voglio fare spoiler, ma fin dall’inizio troviamo un personaggio che sembra essere il classico protagonista di un noir: il bel maledetto, che sembra avere tutto ma non riesce a trovare l’amore... Ecco, questo tizio è un personaggio famosissimo, di cui io non conoscevo il vero nome (che viene spiattellato fin dall’inizio a dire la verità, ma a me diceva tanto quanto Mr. Smith), e ci sono rimasta di stucco quando finalmente si dice chiaro e tondo chi è e quale ruolo ricopre nella storia.
