AMONG US AMONG US AMONG US!!!
it's a beautiful day outside. birds are singing, flowers are blooming... on days like these, kids like you...Should be burning in hell .
A little intense, but... Alright, whose father are you? Iâm sorry about any tears or broken hearts, but I swear, Iâve cleaned up my act.
Hey Hilda!! I been thinking lately, and I asked some of my friends as well, but which SOUL trait do you think fits you the most? Justice, Bravery, kindness, Integrity, Perseverance, Determination or Patience? I myself think I'm either quite a Justice or Integrity SOUL myself!
Hm, SOULs you say? Thatâs a pretty interesting concept. I think Iâm a kindness soul myself. Isnât it kind of me to cheer on people from the sidelines? I canât do much, being a delicate flower means I canât do a lot of work, but I do my best to support them! The others the ones doing all the hard work, and Iâll keep cheering them on!
Hey again! Ut anon, uhh actually an artist but I would probably just write try to avoid being discovered ya know?
Thatâs fair enough! You could also start with writing and see how the reaction is. Create a blog if you think it would be fun! Fandom regression content doesnât usually get a lot of notes, in my experience, but it is a lovely community to be part of. On the bright side, that means that if you do any art it probably wonât go further than the community! You can always try out a new style if youâre worried about anonymity. If thatâs something youâd be interested in trying, of course. (Also, let me know if/when you create it, obviously!!)

âRejectionâ; Chapter Nineteen
NOTES: Oh, this chapterâs gonna be good. For best feels possible while reading this chapter, I recommend playing this song in the background when cued. Donât worry, itâll be worth the trouble.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own this song and Undertale. I acknowledge and give all credit to Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, and Pomnoi, creator of this remix of the original song used in this chapter. And since I know itâs popular, I just want to say that if there are any other Undertale fanfics that include it then the fact that I am using it as well is merely coincidental and that I am not trying to steal anyoneâs ideas and/or content. Grillby noticed that the human had left; naturally, he took the chance to speak with Sans. âSoâŚâ He crackled quietly, and Sans lifted his gaze up at him expectantly. âhm? wassup, grillbs?â Grillby smiled, and shook his eyebrows up and down suggestively. Sans glared at him, confused, not getting the message. The man of fire picked up a bottle of ketchup, and handed it to the short skeleton in front of him.
âWhat do you think of your new friend?â He asked, and Sans sat up straight. âi feel like i should be asking you the same thing.â Grillby chuckled, and shrugged. âI wasnât the one getting all lovey-dovey with her just now.â Sans froze; nearly growling, he scowled at Grillby. âhuh?! what are you-â Grillby wasnât one to interrupt others, but he just needed to stop Sans right there.
Holding up a hand, Grillby made a his point clear. âSans, I saw you from my kitchen. I didnât hear your conversation, but I saw what went on. I watched you listen to whatever- (Y/N), was it?- was saying, and the look in your eyes was genuine. You care for her immensely.â Sans rolled his pupils, a slight blue tinting his cheekbones. âof course i do. sheâs my friend; and friends have to look out for one another. right?â
Grillby sighed, shaking his head. âYes, butâŚâ He trailed off, leaving the skeleton to his own thoughts for a moment. âSans, she looks like she really needs you. The look she was wearing before; I wasnât surprised when she started crying. I was going to come over, until you stepped in and helped her.â Grillby smiled knowingly, and stated what he thought was the obvious.
âNormal friends donât just take anotherâs hand and caress their hair in a hug. They donât respond as quickly as you did when she finished speaking; they donât give her the look.â Sans tilt his head in confusion, when he finally understood what the bartender was hinting. His entire face blushed a deep royal blue; shakily, he set the bottle of ketchup down. âoh no you donât! you canât possibly think that i-â Sans watched in horror as Grillby chuckled under his breath, nodding his head âyesâ.
Sans stood up from his stool in an embarrassed rage, and readied himself to comeback with something good. However, his mind drew a blank when his eyes trailed off of the flaming chef over to (Y/N), who was smiling happily at a new tune floating throughout the restaurant. Sansâ expression changed to one of a less threatening demeanor, and Grillby laughed.
âRight there is my proof. You canât take your eyes off her.â He stated matter-o-factly, and Sans groaned. âitâs really not. i was just curious to what song she was playing-â âSure, Sans. Sure you were.â There was no point continuing the argument, so Sans slumped back down onto his seat. Thankfully, (Y/N) was done picking out her song and snapped her fingers along to it.
This caught Sansâ attention, and listened to her hum under breath. He raised a brow, and chuckled. âyou sing too? jeez, you do it all.â (Y/N) smiled, and folded her elbow. She leaned into it quickly, then set her arm down. Sans watched in an amused shock, not understanding what she just did. Her grin faltered, and she tilt her head. âWhatâs wrong?â She asked, while Sans gazed into her brown eyes with shock.
âwhat was that?â Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she jumped up from her seat. âYou donât know the âdabâ?!â Sans copied her perplexed stare; he had to hold himself back from laughing. âum, no. is it magic?â She performed the action again, but this time with more emphasis as she flung her arm backwards into the air. Sans couldnât contain it anymore and laughed hard. He was starting to forget his weird conversation with Grillby.
âItâs a dance move!â She exclaimed, and Sans grimaced. He thought of Mettaton, and how much he despised the bucket of bolts. The creep was always hitting on his brother; but thankfully Papyrus didnât see him in that way. (Y/N) shot her arm out forward on an angle, and stomped her opposing foot right after. âis that another dance move?â Sans cringed at his own voice; he sounded like a nervous wreck.
âYep! Itâs called-â she did the same exact thing, but with her other arm and foot, â-the whip!â Sans laughed at the stupid name, and wondered why it was called that. âdid you make that up?â (Y/N) shook her head, and rest her hands on her hips. âI wish. I would be so famous up on the Surface.â Sans choked on the last of his ketchup that he had leftover from dinner, and spun around away from the bar.
âthis is the material you humans like to dance with on the surface?â He mocked, and you scowled. âWhat? You got some better moves?â You hissed with a snap of your hands, and Sans shrugged. âeh, when iâm trying. plus, the only kinds of dances around here lately are just for formal traditions; not for fun.â
You grinned devilishly, and called over some huge dogs playing poker in the corner. Sans peered at you curiously, with a goofy smile sprawled across his face. The pooches bound over; youâd already grown to like them, as they were the ones who had greeted you when you addressed yourself earlier to the entire bar. You pat Lesser Dog and Greater Dogâs heads, and whispered something in their ears.
They glared at Sans, smiling with their large canines. Sans sweat nervously; his happy smile turning to one of slight concern. One of the dogâs who went by Doggo told your plan to Grillby, whose flame hair burned brightly at the idea. All the people in the pub soon knew what was going on by passing the word around, except for Sans of course. He didnât like where this was going, as all the tables in the center of the restaurant were being cleared.
Most monsters arose from their seats, and formed a wide circle around (Y/N). She had peeled off Sansâ jacket, leaving it on one of the booths nearby. Her skin glistened with a hint of cool sweat, causing her to somewhat shine in the dim light. She ruffled her long, wavy hair, and rolled abruptly on her heels to face Sans. She had one hand on her hip, the other hanging loosely by her side. A fire sparked within her eyes; an area of her chest glowing an unfamiliar light pink.
Without him noticing, Grillby had slid behind Sans. The skeleton demanded to know what was going on, when the whole restaurant went silent. They were all staring at Sans, who, in turn, was really anxious. âgrillbs, what the hell is happening?â He asked with a waver in his voice; the crowd chuckled at his uncertainty. He hated being the center of attention when he wasnât being a comedian.
Grillby laid a warm hand on Sansâ shoulder, reassuring him that heâll be fine and that he should, âGo for it, dude.â Sans was extremely puzzled; he tried to ask what for but was interrupted with a command from the middle of the room. âHit it!â (Y/N) shouted, and the drunk bunny flicked a button on the jukebox.
You smiled evilly, and slid your way over to Sans. One of your favorite songs was turned on; âDrop Pop Candyâ. Everyone in the bar knew it, and you were sure the skeleton did too. He flinched when you suddenly appeared next to him. âCâmon, hotshot! Letâs see your moves.â You cooed, and grabbed his hand. His startled expression made you laugh as you dragged him into the newly made dance floor.
The first verse began, and Sans tried tugging his arm away. â(y/n), come on! donât do this to me. i canât- i donât-â âSo you canât dance after all?â You challenged, and he grimaced.
âBut look around-â âDance up and down!â
You wrapped your arms around his waist, and twirled him quickly. The two of you wound up in a dip; Sans glared at you with annoyance. âi hate you so much, ya know that?â You giggled while the chorus came up.
âCan you take me away at the top. Speed. OF. SOUND?!â
At each syllable, you strode away and performed a different dance move. Sans just stood at a standstill, with his hands by his sides. The crowd cheered like crazy over on your end, while his side was still encouraging him. He felt stupid; rubbing his head sheepishly, he sighed and balled his hands into fists-
-when he shimmied over to you, moon-walking with his feet. You clapped along to the beat, bumping into his hip. He looked up at you with a shy gaze; quickly, you took his hands. The two of you moved back and forth together; he spun you around, which confused you as he was a lot shorter.
âEveryday, everyday is okay...â
You detached from him, doing a little krumping for silliness. He stared for a moment, blushing a faint blue; then he went back to his own thing, still keeping his cool, not going out into full dance mode. He threw his hands out in front of himself, and made a circular motion. You saw his body fall backwards dangerously, nearly making you cry out in shock- only thing was that it was just an introduction to some sick break-dancing.
His side of the crowd cheered with awe, thus sending you the need to keep up.
Once his fifteen seconds of fame was over, Sans flipped back into a normal standing position. You boogied over to his side, playfully snickering at the current verse of the song.
âOur love is growing red; need me more, need you more!â
You grabbed his shirt, bringing both of your bodies super close. His cheekbones turned cobalt, causing your heart to skip a beat. You laid your hands on his spine, this time you dipping him while holding up one of his legs by your hips. He smoothed the nervous sweat off his head with one hand, the other holding desperately onto your neck so he wouldnât drop.
The monsters surrounding you screamed as the music continued. Sans scrambled away; you let him, laughing at his anxiousness. You growled playfully, and stood straight. He grabbed his coat from where you had left it earlier and flung it onto himself. Zipping it up, he threw the hood over his skull and pulled at the front of his jacket like a gangster.
The amusement brought by his actions came to a halt when his dancing got more serious; busting out moves that you could never dream of achieving, he started off with a spin on the floor and ended with an amazing handstand. Sans thumped his slipper on the floor, and shook his left hand out in front of him. He kept his hood pulled over his dark eye sockets, pretending that he was grinding something.
You blushed hard at his appalling dirty techniques. Whatever you used to retort looked pathetic compared to the twirls and twists Sans was doing; but you tried still tried your best. Looking up from his hood, his left eye flared to life. He lifted a hand, and made a motion as if he were pulling in rope.
Suddenly, you felt your soul protrude from your chest with a deep blue color.
âI'll paint it blue- I'll play a tune!â
The audience screamed with delight; you caught a glance of Grillby watching with astonishment. You were dragged over into Sansâ arms by force, and felt his ribs squish up against your chest as he hoisted you up off the ground. Some monsters whistled as you were thrown underneath him, but propped back up quickly.
The two of you circled each other, until the chorus was sung. That's when you caught sight of Sansâ white soul making its way out of his blue hoodie and into the public. You thought this should worry him, as he could get hurt if the soul accidentally hit something; but that same confident aura radiating off his figure told you otherwise. You followed suite, and drew your soul out with your palm.
Sans pumped a fist in the air, while (Y/N) clapped along to the beat once more. The crowd got into it quite well; Grillby blushed to himself when he saw how close his best friendâââââââs soul was to the humanâs. Heâd never seen nor heard of a time where Sans would put himself in such a position- one where heâs so vulnerable that a single blow to his fragile heart would turn him to dust.
The blue magic that Sans had used on (Y/N) faded away, but his eye still glowed fiercely. He really did trust her; Grillby watched in pure bewilderment at the swirl of emotions and colors inside of the humanâs soul.
The end of the tune was fast approaching; readying themselves for a conclusion, the duo stepped closer to one another. They held their hands up in the air up by one anotherâs cheek, breathing heavily.
âCry to me, know that I care. Lean on me and I'll be there-â
(Y/N) gently flipped her hair, while Sans silently marveled at how gracefully she moved her body in front of him. He strode right next to her, taking her by the waist.
Using his magic for help, he lift her legs up around his waist and wrapped them there. She was about eye level with him now: just the way he wanted it. Their souls glowed so brightly that it lit up the entire pub; monsters from outside had come in to watch, and were outstanded that the lazy skeleton of Snowdin was actually up in the center of the room waltzing with a girl.
âShining down on me, you're my blue moonâŚâ
The song neared its end, and Sans did one last spin before planting (Y/N) back onto her feet. She took his hand, and snaked an arm around his neck. He placed his free hand on her hips, walking forward with her majestically. His hood slid off, and his the blue in his left eye died down.
âTaking it step by step, we'll always move ahead. Our love is growing red; need me more, need you moreâŚâ
(Y/N) stopped, and put her other hand around him. He moved his own to the small of her back; realizing the small proximity between the both of them, (Y/N) blushed immensely. Grillby could tell by the look in her eyes that she was hoping Sans didnât notice her embarrassment.
âAs we keep trying, we'll find you're always gonna be there too.â
She sang aloud, and Sansâ eye sockets grew in surprise. He wouldâve never presumed that a human could have such a beautiful voice. Pushing a sense of courage, Sans closed his eye sockets and harmonized with (Y/N) for the final verse.
âWe're always singing the same tune! Everyday from now on..â
The two of you finished, completely out of breath from the rush of adrenaline. The crowd cheered like there was no tomorrow once you were done; some monsters wolf whistled, while others clapped vigorously. Sansâ soul beamed the same bright white it did back in the alley; your cheeks grew to a dark red upon seeing it. The light pink in your soul changed to that lovely red-fuchsia; Sans brought his skeletal hand up to your chin.
He was smiling genuinely, but looked very tired. For what he lacked in physical energy was replaced by the blush on his cheekbones. A chant arose from the audience, but it didn't bother you or Sans at all. Perhaps it was encore; but neither of you cared. All that mattered was that Sans did it- he danced in public with you, no matter how humiliating it was.

Undyne cheered, Alphys groaned, and Sans sighed. You raised your hand politely to ask Papyrus a few questions. Undyne gave you a high five, and laughed. âYou don't need to raise your hand to speak, nerd!â You gave a curt nod, and spoke to the tall skeleton reaching for a box with pictures on it from behind.
âUh, Paps? What's âBone Breakerâ? It sounds painful.â Papyrus gave you the box, and you examined it. The monsters on it were playing a game that greatly resembled âTwisterâ. âIT IS A GAME THAT REQUIRES MUCH SKILL, DEAR (Nickname)!! EACH TURN, A PLAYER MUST SPIN FROM THE WHEEL OF DOOM. WHATEVER IT LANDS ON, THAT PLAYER MUST STEP ON THAT SYMBOL. YOU CANNOT MOVE ANY BODY PARTS THAT ARE ON A SYMBOL; IF YOU FALL, YOU LOSE.â He explained, although you already knew perfectly well how it was supposed to go.
You nodded in understanding, and the young skeleton set up the mat. âWHO WOULD LIKE TO GO FIRST?â When no one raised their hand, Undyne grabbed your wrist and threw it up in the air. âI say the newbie goes up first!â Alphys snorted, and Sans gave you a thumbs up. You got up from off the couch, and walked over to the center of the room.
The mat was in front of the TV, which was currently turned off. Papyrus spun the large wheel that came with the package (it had to be bigger because monsters have many different varying body parts, like tails and wings) and it landed on a blue foot.
You sighed a breath of relief, glad that you werenât starting off on your hands or something. Undyne shot up from her seat, and Sans extended his legs to where sheâd just been. She glared murderously at him, silently getting across that when she returned that spot was hers. He shrugged, shoving his hands into his pockets.
âMy turn!â She boasted confidently, and spun the wheel. It landed on a red foot, which she accepted without problem and followed onto the mat.
Papyrus wanted to go next, so he spun the dial. It landed on a green tail, which he frowned at. âI DONâT HAVE A TAIL. BUT I HAVE A BUTT! SORT OF.â He simply sat down on a green spot.Â
Papyrus waved Sans over, but the short skeleton insisted on going last. Alphys nervously made her way up to the table, and flicked the arrow. It was on a red hand, and she groaned. Undyne smiled, and grabbed the lizard, holding her upside down with ease.
âDon't worry, Al! I got you! Just put your hand where it's supposed to go.â She cheered, and the yellow lizard did as she was told. Sans dozed off in the mere minute that Alphys had taken her turn; without hesitation, everyone started yelling at him to wake up. He opened an eye lazily, and reached over for the spinner. He flicked it gently; as if he wanted the dial to land on a certain icon on purpose.
Sans walked over with the piece of cardboard and set it down on the floor. âi got a yellow knee. i believe that'sâŚâ He playfully bumped into your side, and got down on one knee in front on you, â-right here.â He snickered, looking up at you expectantly. You rolled your eyes, blushing stupidly at his little trick. Alphys saw this, and giggled under her breath.
After a couple more seconds of snickering all around, Undyne and Papyrus urged you to take your turn. âOk, ok! Jeez, calm down.â You laughed, and flicked the arrow. It was a green hand; cautiously, you leaned past Sans and next to Papyrus. Undyne reached down for the spinner, and forcefully smacked the dial. It stopped at a blue elbow, and she confidently lifted up Alphys. âReady, Al?â
The fish warrior had to do a backflip to maintain in position; while poor Alphys was dangling onto her girlfriendâs legs in order to stay on her dot. Papyrus grabbed the cardboard, and got another green. âWOWIE, ARENâT I LUCKY?â He yelled happily, and placed a hand on top of yours besides him. He smiled towards you when realizing you were now both making contact, to which you responded with a goofy grin of your own. Alphys had the arrow spun for her courtesy of Sans, who was practically the only one who still remained upright.
She got was lucky as well, and received a blue foot. She set a leg down by Undyneâs hair, letting go of the warriorâs thigh. She rubbed her head from being upside down for the past turn, and winced. Sans took his turn, and gave you a weird look once he found out what he got. âa green hand. huh.âÂ
He reached over, and smiled evilly. You gasped when you sensed how his whole body was practically atop your own, and that your hands were completely sandwiched together by both brothersâ. You wanted to open your mouth to protest that he was cheating just to get on your chops, but you stayed silent.
It was your turn; you flicked the arrow pathetically, as the amount of strength residing within you was draining quickly. The symbol was a yellow wing, which you decided would just be substituted for a leg. You tried to place your foot under you, but fell.
Luckily, you were caught by something sturdy; you opened your eyes to see it was Sans who had wrapped an arm around your back. âdon't worry, (y/n). i won't let you break a leg.â He made a pun about the gameâs title, and you attempted to give him an annoyed glare. It didn't work; you wound up smiling anyways.
Alphys blushed when she saw the little action happening to her right, and was squealing on her insides. âI ship it so hardâŚâ she murmured under her breath, with Undyne asking what she had said. Replying nothing, the fish lady shrugged it off and spun to get a blue wing as well. She snickered, and placed her other foot down forcefully.Â
From what you could tell, she wasnât gonna drop anytime soon. Neither was Papyrus, as he was merely sitting on the ground. But when he spun, it resulted in him having to get up and stretch his leg all the way across the mat to the red section.
Alphysâ turn. She snakes a tail under Undyne. Sansâ turn. Figures, he gets a blue foot; now he looks like heâs dipping you back at Grillbyâs. You debate within yourself whether or not you should argue his actions aloud; at this point, you couldn't really move the spinner on your own, so Sans did it for you.
âyou landed on a special space.â He says nonchalantly, and everyone groans. âWhat's that mean?â You ask, and he chuckles. âyou can either have the opportunity to screw up someone else or move wherever you want.â
You think about, and decide to be vindictive. âYa know what, Sans? Do you think it'd be possible for you to stretch your leg thatâs currently on blue all the way over to red by your hand?â He gulped, and eyed the spot with hatred. But rather than directing his frustration towards you, he narrowed his pinpricks for eyes and gave an annoyed smile.
âsure thing, sweetheart.â He spat acidly, and you laughed with triumph; now he was just as uncomfortable as all of us. Undyne spun, and got a yellow foot. She growled, unable to move her red foot back without hitting Alphysâ tail.
âDamn it!!â She cursed, but summoned a spear and propped her back up with it. âAre you nuts?! Youâll freaking stab yourself!â You cried out, but Undyne just howled with laughter and gave a heroic cheer. âThere's no way I'm giving up!! It's my determination, I tell you!!â Sans rolled his eyes, and Alphys snorted.
âMore like your stupidity, actually.â She insulted Undyne, and you released a complimentary, âOHHHH! ROASTED!!â Papyrus snickered, and spun the wheel. He got a blue hand, and attempted sticking it under Sansâ legs. It didn't work, and he fell to the ground.
âNO!!! HOW COULD THE GREAT PAPYRUS FAIL?!â He cried out, angry that he lost the game. Undyne bellowed, âHA-HA! ONE NERD GONE; THREE MORE!!!â Alphys reached to grab the cardboard spinner, but also collapsed while doing so. She yelped in surprise when she landed on her tail, and rolled off the mat.Â
It was Sansâ turn, and he had to spin. Picking up the chart, he flicked it and cringed when it landed on yellow hand. âuh ohâŚâ He whispered, and you glared up at him.
âWhaddaya mean, âuh ohâ?! Sans, I swear to God, if you drop me-!â ârelax, (nickname). i got it covered.â He blinked his eyes a few times, summoning his magic. Suddenly, you felt really light; but not so light that it was like you were flying. Just enough so that your soul was under control by the skeleton, but didn't pop out. A droplet of sweat rolled down his temple as he handed you the board. Struggling to spin it, you just barely made the thing go. It lands on a color youâre already on, so you just stay put.
Undyne goes, and cheers when she lands on a special space. âHey punk! Move your hand on the green two spaces over!â Undyne snarled wickedly, and you gulped. Sansâ head was right there, how could she- âJust do it already, ya wimp!â âOkay, okay!â You holler back, and comply. Sans begins to turn his head to take a peek at what the current situation was, but you practically screamed for him not to do so. âwhy not?!â He asked in a tone that sounded more frightened than curious.
You blushed hard from total embarrassment when you saw your bust almost hit the back of his skull. âJust...please don't. In the name of Asgore, I beg you-â âalright, alright! i get the idea.â His hand wavers in the air, struggling to remain focused on keeping you from falling.
More beads of sweat dripped down his skull. It was his turn, and he also landed on a special spot. âoh thank godâŚâ He muttered, and you chuckled nervously. He carefully ducked from whatever was above him, and fixed his hand to stand up straighter than what it was.
He wrapped his arms around your waist again, and dampened the blue magic in his eye out, not needing it anymore. Undyne growled, and barked at you to take your turn. You did, and got a red hand.
You were gonna have to jump if you wanted to make it. Taking in a deep breath, you pushed up off the mat with all the might you could musterâŚ
Not far enough. You clawed for something, anything, to take a hold of, and that was Sans. Not expecting the sudden addition of weight, he scrambled to hold you up. He couldn't take it, and collapsed to the ground with you underneath him.Â
Undyne got up from her awful position, removing the slightly impaled spear from her spine, and ran around the living room with ecstasy. âYES!! I WIN!!â She shout, while you let out an âOomph-!â from hitting the floor. Your body was glad that it could finally rest, but the fact that Sans was on top of you once again was kind of cliche.
He opened his eyes, and laid a hand beside your cheek. âguess you can say that youâve fallen for me, huh?â He winked playfully, and you pushed him off, blushing crazily. Alphys put her phone away, done recording the little moment.
She was definitely gonna use that later for her little chat with Undyne about her new OTP.
