As promised my list (so far) of Toxic Obsessive Homoerotic Friendship book recs, part 1! This list is my top ten, from most favorite to not quite as favorite (but still awesome) according to my own taste. I wanted to include pictures but it was a nightmare. I know that there are books that you love so much that you can’t put down even if it’s 4 am and your eyes are closing and you have school tomorrow morning. But what about the books you don’t want to end. The ones that you’re so captivated by, you feel the chapters slipping away and you’re like - No. You don’t want them to end so you force yourself to put it down or to read slower. You fall asleep with only the characters in your mind. You wake up with them too. When you’re eating dinner and your father asks you how your day was, you don’t hear him because you were daydreaming, imagining all the possible ways this book could fuck you up. You don’t want to read it during the day because there’s too much noise. When the moon wakes up, so does your book. You’re listening to music and suddenly when you’re on just the right page, a song comes up. And you don’t pay attention at first, but then you read this single sentence and the song matches it perfectly. You’re like..” wow did that just happen?” and you need to put down the book because your heart is racing. And then you spent the next few days obsessing over both the book and song. Yeah, those books hit different or is it just me? Drop down the books that made you feel like this.
i have a terrible tendency to just get into one fanfic trope and read everything I can for it. anyway I've been reading a lot of "merlin gets possessed by something that wants to kill Arthur" fics and then I got gut punched by the lyric "once i was him, but now he's me" since artificial heart came on when I was reading one
sometimes I think about how my parents raised four kids in this tiny ass house which is Not a ranch style and thus does not extend much beyond the right side of this street view screenshot. like. idk. my bedroom in my apartment now is twice the size of the one i shared with my sister. at one point there was a whole ass second family living in the partially finished basement because their housing situation was unsafe. my uncle lived with us for a while. idk. i see the size houses people are building these days and i remember ten people in this rinky dink situation and can't help but feel people are weak lmao
