The Demon Song: The Fallen Kings (book 1)
Excerpt from Chapter 1: The Frozen King "We once were warm, now we're not. Those days are past, best forgot. We once were strong, full of pride. Now we are weak, our will has died. Lives of frost, rains of ice. We will survive, just for spite. Open your doors, the few have risen. We shall break these chains of our prison." - First Bloods of Vektelor "You know mother would not be happy if she heard you singing that rebel song, Meriphius." She says with a slight giggle. "Your mother doesn't concern me, Sepherius." He walks across the garden to where the three Stones of Old are placed around the dead tree. "We will need a new host soon. The ancient willows in this garden are not strong enough." Said Meriphius as he studied the gnarled and darkly streaked tree. His sister glides up to him and wraps her slender arms around his waist as she kisses his cheeks. "I knew this when I told mother to come here." Another slight giggle. "Your mother wouldn't take too kindly to that. Perhaps I shall tell her, maybe she will kill you this time." Meriphius says with a humorless grin as he steps away from his overly affectionate sister. Sepherius pouts pitifully, "Now, dear brother, you wouldn't wish death upon your sweet sister merely because she wanted to see the locals perform their sacred Dance of Dãymëor. Would you?" She walks around the the first great stone tracing her finger across the calligraphy as she waits for his response. - J. Dragonhyde
