Finn was bored. Â A part of her understood why Apollo enjoyed traveling from court to court, regaling the nobility with tales of times long gone. Â He relished the attention, and took every chance to spread the word of his godly deeds whenever and wherever he could. Â Anything to keep his magic alive. Â Still...the dragon could only take so much. Â Crowds were something she only truly enjoyed when experienced in moderation, and the red-head was at her limit. Â Stealing away from the courtiers wasnât too difficult. Â She simply waited until one of Apolloâs story climaxes, and then quietly slipped away as the humans âoohedâ and âahhedâ. Â At first sheâd considered finding the library...or an inner courtyard where she could see the sky...but something was tugging at her...something unnamed and distant...and the nearby forest seemed to beckon. Â Surely there she could enjoy her true form for awhile - stretch her wings and enjoy the rush of the wind across her scales.
So Finn made her way past the treeline and began to walk. Â There was a feeling as she moved deeper into the trees...something familiar, but only vaguely, as if part of an old dream. Â She unconsciously traveled towards it, not really searching...or even curious...just following a natural inclination. Â Once she found herself deep enough amongst the woods, the woman sought out a clearing, and eagerly transformed into her true draconic self. Â It was something she rarely got to do, and it felt wonderful! Â With a soft cry of joy, the dragon launched herself into the air, soaring straight up, before angling herself at the ground and nosediving down into the clearing. Â At the last minute, she swooped back up, belly just brushing the grass before heading back into the sky and flying in a relaxed spiral right through the clouds. Â This was exactly what sheâd needed! Â Maybe she could keep flying until Apollo came looking for her? Â Yes. Â Finn liked that idea. Â Besides, once she shifted back, who knew when sheâd get the chance again. Â Better to enjoy this for as long as she could. Â She soared higher, enjoying the warmth of the sun as it reflected across her golden scales, and caring for nothing except the feel of her body in flight.
