You're the best thing to ever happen to me / But also the worst thing to ever happen to me. [But] My best enemy is you.
I am free of the vice grip "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" had me in ever since I read the translation. The conflicted emotions fit these two wonderfully, though perhaps more-so Uldwyn, given that he starts out in the fic hating Hal, and eventually warms up to him.
This is, essentially, Uldren/Young Wolf, afterall.
I see issues in the picture, but you know what? It's good enough.
(For the record, the scene premise is the two needing to "entertain" someone to get something, and Uldwyn is very much trying to make Hal look like a fool ("Can you tango? No? Good."), and it just backfires in his face because 1: Hal is a good dancer in general, even without knowing the formal steps, 2: Uldwyn's good at leading, and 3: the whole atmosphere reminds Uldwyn that he's catching feels, both romantic and sexual.)
