#uk non binary

Currently, as a non binary person, I'm not able to get married or a civil partnership as myself and my gender. I'd have to be deliberately misgendered in all the paperwork and in the ceremony - in front of everyone. I'm also unable to get my passport, driving licence, and other official documents to reflect my correct identity. I can't even be officially recognised as trans, even with a gender recognition certificate, because the UK doesn't recognise non binary as a valid identity!

Petition: Recognise nonbinary people's genders in law and in identity documents

Hello!

First I want to say thank you for all you do to support trans and non binary people!

However I am hoping to slightly exploit your kindness…

I have created a uknonbinary Tumblr page, because while you guys are amazing at supporting and informing non binary people, you are guys and I think we need our own space as  I think everyone deserves their own space.

I hope you agree with me on this point and post this in the hopes I can create one more safe place for non binary folk (even if just on this hellsite)!

The url is uknonbinary and I am far from an expert on these things so please don’t anyone looking at it expect anything wonderful, especially as I have just made the page and have maybe 3 posts on it!

Thanks again for all the good you guys do, and I know no matter what I will still be using this page for advice and support!

I will say that I don’t know if all the mods are necessarily binary-identified, though I think we have all followed a ‘typical’ pathway in many respects, and there is plenty of space to expand on UK-specific resources for non-binary people on tumblr.
