When @ms.empr3ssive1 came to me with the concept of the dress, I wasn’t the least bit surprised because, it completely described her personality. Outgoing, outspoken and colorful. She hands me the fabric, along with a bag full of Tule. I HATE Tule! I seriously do, but I felt it was important to create this dramatic piece, because it was being worn by a woman who’s a descendent of Haiti, where the Ubersoca ship would be docking. I took my time, patiently cutting the Tule into its separate pieces, gathering each one, at a time and finally attaching them, to the bottom of the dress. It felt like forever, but as soon as I was done, I sent her a voicenote telling her, this dress will be the show stopper. Hell, I wanted it for myself. She added the perfect headpiece, which she designed and made for herself, to go with the dress and as you can see, she looks amazing! 💁🏽♀️ @ms.empr3ssive1 📷 @nkosiart 💄@paintedbykrissy 🎩 @ms.empr3ssive1 #ubersoca #customdress #wakandaball #wakanda #afrobeats #handmade#smallbusiness #fashiondesigner #brand #africanfashion #caribbeanfashion #etsy #etsyshop #blackowned #womenclothing #ankara #ankarafashion #caribbean #uk #nigeria #africa #unitedstates #trinidad #jamaica #models #stylist #blogger #runway #fashionweek #dayparty #brunch https://www.instagram.com/p/BqLHjoulodU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=5onwbwrymqva
