As a home release, physical media enjoyer, I so so deeply wish more companies would release SD on Blu-ray. I don't need old shows to be in high definition, and I don't want old special effects to be redone. And I sure don't need to see all the crap going on on the sides of the screen that the directors never intended to be part of the show.
I just want to be able to house the maximum number of episodes on the smallest number of durable Blu-ray discs and pop those suckers in my player to watch a cozy, pillarboxed, kinda gritty show. And it actually hurts my heart because I have a feeling that there's not much of a demand for SD on BD. And since companies aren't going to spend the money to remaster some of these old shows, or take the chance on releasing shows that literally can't be remastered due to how they were filmed/edited, and since most customers aren't going to be interested in buying a Blu-ray that isn't HD, I'm going to have to settle for bulky DVD box sets with stacked DVDs getting scratched on each other.
