We gaze at stars in the night sky most nights in awe of its beauty. But little do we think about what we’re really looking at. Honestly, how many of us can say we understand ideas such as the origin and evolution of stars? Or how they came to be what we’ve become fascinated with to observe? Most of us will have no answer to any of those questions.

So to be a bit more knowledgeable about these beautiful stars, here are a few fun facts about stars!

If you don't know about the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special - The Day of the Doctor - then, seriously, where have you been? We heard the rumours, waited for them to be true, got given some information and then waited and waited and waited with little clues from interviews for more information and now we've finally got a good amount of trailers and clips to sink our teeth into and gif every second of.

The episode which airs on 23rd November will see the very wecome return of Doctor number 10 (David Tennant) and his companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), alongside current Doctor number 11 (Matt Smith) and his companion Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) and mystery Doctor (John Hurt).

Obviously you can watch it on TV and there'll be livestreams all over Tumblr, but it will also be shown in cinemas across the UK, the US, Canada, Germany, Russia, New Zealand and Australia (other countries to be announced), tickets for which go on sale soon.

So, if you've missed any of them or just fancy watching them all again, I've compiled all the official trailers and teasers below!

I'd like to begin by clarifying that feminists are not "man-haters" or believe women are superior to men, as is often associated with feminism. Feminism does not equal to misandry. While a feminist is an advocate for women's rights and equality, this does not mean he/she does not believe sexism affects men as well.

Here's 10 reasons as to why we need it today:

1. Because this year, before a school trip, the girls from my school were made to attend a special assembly about dress code for the trip (We weren't allowed to wear anything tight or sleeveless, and strictly no shorts- even though we'd be visiting a water park). The boys had absolutely no clothing restrictions.

2. Because the word 'Pussy' and the phrase 'You _____ like a girl' are used as insults.

3. Because catcalls, wolf-whistles and lewd comments thrown at women on streets is not okay.

4. Because women are nearly always associated with cleaning supplies, food products and objects relating to household work in advertisements and the general media.

6. Because a woman choosing not to settle down or have kids is seen as unacceptable even today.

7. Because 351 anti-abortion bills have made their way through state legislatures this year.

8. Because there are people who believe that if you're nice to a girl, she owes you something romantically or sexually- and should be shamed for 'putting him in the friendzone' if she refuses.

9. Because most women avoid leaving their house at night or feel the need to carry pepper spray with them when they do.

Many try not to, some deny it, but most fall victim to that of procrastination. As teenagers and students of varying grade levels, the tendency to procrastinate tends to worsen with each progressing year. In our early teens, we usually have pretty good habits, and often care more about homework and exams –as we should. But later into our teens, most of us learn to perfect the art of cramming for exams the night before and scribbling homework just before entering the classroom.

We’re often distracted by television, the Internet and conversing with others. Generally, things that bring us some sort of pleasure suddenly have a new-found importance over our school work, because it’s more exciting and enjoyable. Thus, the continual fall to procrastination.

It’s quite amusing to think about the cycle of procrastination, which we all know happens to most of us.

We first tend to think we have more time then we actually do. However, later realizing that we’ve wasted more time than we should have, we’re left to stressfully rush last minute work. Once we’re relieved that we either got lucky and finished in time or got little sleep from working late, we generally try to vow not to procrastinate the following night. But once that moment comes again, we fall to a sudden inner conflict of reliving the cycle of procrastination or actually working on time.

The week before the last, some men of a misogynistic website decided it was Fat-shaming Week. The purpose of it was to shame obese women, since they believed it was wrong for people with ‘imperfect’ bodies to feel confident about themselves. The people who participated in Fat-shaming week took to twitter using the hash tag #FatShamingWeek and posted offensive and rude jokes targeting overweight people (which include “Instead of putting all your energy into getting angry at fat shamers, why don’t you use that energy at the gym?”). A twitter account with the username FatShamingWeek was created to share all these jokes. They claimed the fat-shaming was out of concern for the health of the women concerned. The idea spread all over the social network, and the #FatShamingWeek was trending on twitter.

However, the idea backfired. The people who were being bashed for their weight and others who were disgusted by the idea began to use the #FatShamingWeek tag to retaliate to those participating in Fat-shaming Week. It was great to see those who refused to let these harsh words bother them, and confidently called them out on their narrow mindedness. Here are some of the best responses to Fat­-shaming Week-

AudreySablier on twitter declared the week after Fat-shaming Week as Body Confidence Week. With this, body positivity supporters began tweeting positive messages, using the hashtag #BodyConfidenceWeek. It was very uplifting, and much needed after the insensitive comments thrown around during Fat-shaming Week.

Fat-shaming Week was started by people who had the ridiculous idea that overweight and obese people do not deserve a place on this planet, and that it was their job to ‘motivate them into getting healthy’. If they truly believe they are targeting unhealthiness, why don't they exclude overweight people who eat healthy and excessive enough? They seem to have failed to grasp that thinness is not synonymous with healthiness.The website that started Fat-shaming Week seem to be absolutely against body positivity, and think that women shouldn’t be proud of their bodies unless they fit society’s standards of beauty- which is apparent from their baseless and prejudiced articles (which include "5 reasons fat girls don't deserve love" and "5 reasons fat people are evil"). The fact that they have followers that agree with all that they believe in leaves me - and, quite clearly, a number of other people - deeply disappointed.

As easy and obvious as making a decision sounds, at times it can be extremely difficult when put in a situation not easily laid out. We make countless decisions everyday: where to go, what to do, what to eat, etc. But sometimes we’re left with decisions that aren’t as easy as everyday matters. Sometimes we are forced to decide things that affect our present and thus our future.

Sure, when things get tough we can simply ignore our problems and attempt to move on and luckily that works sometimes but not always. There comes a time when we have to really think about the things that we do and whether we want things to change and, if so, how much.

What factors should we consider when making serious decisions? Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Think about how things are as of present and what the decision means to the situation.

Weigh up multiple options and ask for opinions if needed. We tend to think that we are more limited in our options than we really are.

Try not to panic or overly stress out. Impulsive decision-making can work sometimes, but runs the risk of regretting the decision at a later time, which is also something to keep in mind.

Take a break, if needed. Clouded judgment can be potentially detrimental.

Think about what you want and how you want to get there.

Little do we know how different it is to start high school and to start university. When starting high school, we tend to feel as if we are more mature and cooler than we really are –we feel large. Sometimes we may feel lonely, but in high school we have it easier than we think, because there will always be the same kids sitting around you in class. High school puts you in smaller environments that allow each student opportunities to make friends left, right and centre - any day of the week. Of course, there’s always that initial nervous feeling you get while talking to the person next to you on the first day, but there is always that feeling of comfort in the thought that this person will likely be next to you for the rest of the year, if not for at least an extended period of time. This is something we tend to take for granted, because no one quite tells you that this generally changes when you start university.

This is not to say that university is a terrible place, it can and will be whatever you make it out to be. But walking into university, we tend to feel a bit smaller than we felt going into high school. With a much bigger campus and student population, it’s hard to find exactly where you stand as fast as you might have in high school. There are many more options in your hands and this can both be exciting and overwhelming, because you want to try everything - while, at the same time, you don't know what to try at all. Furthermore, the opportunities we had to make friends in high school become much harder in university, because you could sit next to a student one day, but never see them again the next. We are not forced to sit in assigned seats or even attend every lecture. University is a very independent type of environment, of which incoming first years often overlook. That is not to say that everyone is cold and hard to approach, but there tends to be a larger amount of effort needed to socialize and make friends.
