Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon: Appreciation Week, Day 7: Favourite Ending
Type: Wild!
Not only is Type: Wild one of my favourite songs from Original series, but having it be performed by one of my favourite singers in Japan made this my favourite by a MILE! And it’s a freaking callback to the original ending animation with this song as well, like it’s all I ever wanted! Thank you Sun & Moon, for bringing back one of the best Insert songs in Pokeani history!
Credit where it’s due to twitter user KGPrestige for bringing this to our attention (screencaps are mine thou), but updated Type: Wild references every hat symbol Ash/Satoshi has had and the fact that Hanako/Delia is here as well is symbolically beautiful, as she has made all but first hat for Satoshi!
This is simply just beautiful referencing detail I’ll never stop loving.
There was so much good in SM129, I swear this is my favourite opening battle for any league. Seeing most of the contestants be characters we all know from before, seeing Rocket Gang survive the pre-round with avoidance tactic, seeing the Alola Squad work together, seeing Gladio work together with Satoshi to make sure both of them get to TOP 16, the wonderful humor with Boruto-named Pikachu appearing in the episode from Pikarla, Mimikyu running wild, Pyukumuku vs Magikarp, GOSH I swear I’ve never had this much fun and enjoyment while watching a league at the same time! Totally loving it. I expect lots of fun and exciting times from this league!
And I keep on crying at Alola Squad cuz oh my GOD the new ending is so freaking beautiful, the homage to roiginal is perfect, with way more frames involved and such a wonderful ‘story’ in it. Satoshi, as always, is amazing. I tried giffing couple scenes but it’s honestly hard but GOSH LOOK AT SUIREN

Mao and Amajo are absolutely cute in this as well just such a happy jump but honestly, the crown goes to Kaki:

Gonna have to restock my tissues for September/October when the series comes to an end. But before that, let the League hype continue!
