Whoever came up with the idea of there being two Jokers is honestly such an Icon. It of course explains away most inconsistencies in the character, and allows for a wide variety of Joker stunts to take place so people who want a goofy Joker can have one and people who take philosophy or do media analysis can have that one but most importantly,
I get to imagine a world where these two fuckers come out the woodwork at the same time, neither aware of the other, and they independently begin to get well known. And the Joker who kills people on a whim because S O C I E T Y is absolutely livid that he shares his title with an actual clown, who's bringing down his reputation just by existing, and he absolutely cannot wait to kill this imposter, this fool, this Joke of a Villain except
He Can't Find Him.
This guy is a cloud of smoke that can't be caught, unless you count that one time he let the Mad-With-Power-And-Lacking-Empathy-Joker catch him so he could squirt him in the face with a prop flower before calling him a pathetic excuse for a Clown, and suggested that he "take an improv class, you're way too stiff with your lines." before he vanished away into the night, leaving behind a trail of tied handkerchiefs.
