A sneak peek at newborn Edward
My headcanon for the Cullens if they were the Bridge Crew/Senior Staff of a Starfleet vessel. (We're going with TOS division colors here, because Carlisle would look terrible in red TNG Era pips tho)
The Crew of the USS Olympic (NCC-10505)
πππππ¨
Captain Carlisle Cullen - Triple C among the Cadets. A legend with Kirk's good looks, Picard's strong ethics and Pike's comforting charm (and Pike's good looks and Pike's ethics). Came up through the Medical division, was tipped for Head of Starfleet Medical but was too dedicated to his ship and crew. Misses being a doctor though.
ππππ¦
Commander Esme A. Platt, First Officer and Ship's Counselor (she's Carlisle's number one)
ππβοΈ π₯
Lt. Commander Rosalie Hale, Chief Engineer and second officer
ππβοΈπ¨
Lt. Commander Jasper Whitlock, Chief Tactical Officer
πππ₯
Lieutentant Emmett McCarty, Chief Security Officer
πππ₯
Lieutentant Mary Alice Brandon, Ops
πβοΈπ¨
Lt. Jr. Grade Edward Anthony Masen, Helmsman

Ensign Isabella Swan, Science Officer
Alternatively you could make Esme the Captain and Carlisle the Chief Medical officer, But I don't think Carlisle would look that good in Blue/turquoise
Also I originally had Bella designated as "Random Bridge Ensign/Redshirt?" But I wanted to put her in a science position since she looks so good in blue and she's such a wiz at Biology apparently.
Yessss love all these. I also see Carlisle as the reluctant leader who misses being a CMO. He's always finding reasons to wander into Sickbay and they have to keep finding polite reasons to kick him out.
Esme for the ship's counselor, absolutely. There's a longstanding joke on the bridge that she's actually the one in charge (she's half Orion).
I have Edward as the first officer (a little older I guess). He used to be in security but he got a couple battlefield promotions during the Dominion War. Carlisle saved his life during one of those battles and he saved Carlisle's life in the other. He demonstrated a unique talent for "reading" their opponents during negotiations and standoffs. Carlisle nudged him onto a command career path and he excelled despite his youth. No one will play poker with him, though. He's Bajoranβthe Dominion War was a particularly difficult time for him because he felt so torn about remaining Starfleet vs resigning so he could join the resistance at home. He's still not sure he made the right decision.
Agreed, Rosalie is the Chief Engineer and Second Officer. She's bitter about Edward's promotion and feels that Carlisle has passed her over, but she's a killer engineer and even she has to admit she doesn't want to be on the bridge. Especially since she had a hand in designing the Olympic's warp drive.
Emmett is the helmsman. He's an NCO and damn proud of it. He and Rosalie served on the Olympic for almost a full year before they said two words to each other, and those first words were shouts after Emmett executed a particularly reckless maneuver (a.k.a. "saved the ship") in an asteroid field that damaged the port nacelle. They were married less than two months later. Tom and B'Elanna have nothing on these two for inappropriate PDA in various parts of the ship.
Alice at Ops, I love it! That's so perfect. She's that character who always comes up with bizarre ideas for how to modify their usual scans to pick up the subtlest anomaly.
And yes, Jasper at Tactical. But he also works for Section 31βhe's been trying to get out for years, but they're not about to let a Betazoid go. He might be willing to jeopardize his own career (they have enough dirt on his younger, stupider days to guarantee a court martial), but their latest threat included a polite mention of Alice's history with the Maki under an assumed name. So that's that. Jasper reports directly to Admiral Aro.
My Bella is a civilian; she just came to the Olympic as a new teacher. She's crossed paths with the brooding, handsome first officer but they haven't spoken yet. It took her two weeks to stop getting lost in the corridors (she refuses to ask the computer for directions).
Do you think there's a fic out there where Data from TNG traveled to the Twilight Universe and everyone mistook him for a vampire and wacky antics ensue?
If not there SHOULD be
I just ran a quick search and the first result was "Twitards Invade the Enterprise" so there's hope I guess...
