β - "oh it's ok for rosemary to be abusive and try to kill an officer because she lost everything!" you're just looking for reasons to excuse her behavior. β - felix having an illness and addiction he can not control isn't an "excuse" for him to crash the car, but rosemary losing her kids and husband is an "excuse" for her to be abusive/neglectful and abandon sophie?? β - "ugh you're so mysoginistic" gender doesn't even come into play here, mind you. i've been called misogynistic multiple times despite not even bringing up rosemary's gender simply because people don't want to believe that their sweet angel can do things wrong, and what they say makes felix's actions inexcusable (which they are) are the exact same things that make rosemary's actions inexcusable as well. β - "oh but you defend felix!" understanding why a character does something and why they act the way they do and point out that they're not inherently a bad person with bad intentions isn't defending them. rosemary has done bad things,but she's not inherently a bad person, as all of you say, but you can't just say that her actions are "justified" or "excusable" just because she's your favorite character without understanding why she acted the way she did and why it doesn't make her a bad person. β - "you're babying felix!" you all are and have been babying rosemary, even though she has done bad things too. β - "but felix did worse!" this is literally just an excuse to not realize that the same things people say to defend rosemary can be used to defend felix. β - this is a double standard that's defended by rosemary being a fan favorite. edit: β - the argument "but this character has done worse!" is only used to completely invalidate what i'm saying instead of realizing that your argument you use to defend rosemary can also be used to defend felix. even when you say "less sympathetic reasons" it makes it seem like you're excusing bad behavior simply because you think it's more sympathetic. take it this way; you can use that argument in felix's case by saying that he buried the kids out of panic in fear of being punished, and due to that panic and fear his actions are understandable and you're able to sympathize with him - you can also use that same argument in rosemary's case by saying that her neglecting herself and sophie and snapping at sophie/the police officer because of her losing her family, and due to her loss her actions are understandable and sympathize with her. β - "felix should have known better." yes, but rosemary also should've known not to act that way towards her kid and put her hands on a police officer. your argument can be used for both, you just don't want to acknowledge that simply because "one is worse", when they've both done bad things. saying that one character is worse in a conversation like this is only used to defend the other that has done bad things as well without actually acknowledging the argument i'm making.
