365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out Villains - One Villain, Every Day, All Year…
March 11th - Two-Face
Harvey Dent was a successful, ambitious and driven prosecutor who became the District Attorney for Gotham City. He made many enemies as he fearlessly went after the organized crime factions that plagued the city. The gangsters attempted to assassinate him when a mobster he was prosecuting threw a vial of acid in Dent’s face. Dent managed to turn away at the last minute, but the acid horribly scarred half of his face. The injury ultimately caused a severe psychological break in Dent, a psychosis wherein he became obsessed with the duality of human nature and properties of chance. He turned to a life of crime, compelled to commit heists involving duality and the number two as well as making critical decisions by way of flipping of a coin. Now known as ‘Two-Face,’ Dent went on to become one of Batman’s most fearsome foes, battling The Dark Knight, Robin and the extended Bat-Family on near countless occasions. Harvey Dent featured in the movie Batman portrayed by Billy Dee Williams; as well as the movie Batman Forever, he was portrayed by actor Tommy Lee Jones; Aaron Eckhart portrayed the character in the movie The Dark Knight; and Nicholas D'Agosto played the role in the television series Gotham. Two-Face first appeared in the pages of Detective Comics #66 (1942).
