If you pack and you’re not 100% satisfied with any particular packing methods, this is your sign to try packing with tape (generic KT tape or TransTape, either way). I had a huge, largely unused roll of TransTape from when I tried and failed to use it for binding, and it just never seemed worth the trouble to sell it but I couldn’t justify throwing it out. So the other day someone on a subreddit posted about their method of packing with it — TT has a method published, but this one’s a hell of a lot simpler — so I said “Ah, what the hell” and tried it and.
OH my God. Finagling with it can be tricky and troublesome because of how stretchy and sticky the tape is, but once it’s in place?? Nothing shifts around. I don’t have to constantly readjust and pray no one sees (either the readjustment itself or the fact that I have a bulge that’s inexplicably migrated closer to my butt than, y’know, where a penis is SUPPOSED to be). I don’t have to take care that it doesn’t fall out and then resettle everything when I go to the bathroom. I just lift it up so it stays out of the way, wipe, and then it falls right back into place. I take it out at night to wash and powder it and wash myself, but the tape is waterproof and made to last up to a week per application, so as soon as everything’s dry, I slap it right back in and I’m ready to go once more.
“Life-changing” feels like a silly way to describe the discovery of using KT tape to hold a silicone penile prosthetic to your body, but for me? Absolutely life-changing. My dysphoria hasn’t been so low since I actually discovered packing in the first place. Aaaaaaaaah I’m so happy 🥰🥰🥰
