Blackadder - the humour I grew up on, and just genius. Skip s01 (I've never seen more than a few seconds of it). s04 is my favourite. I can probably quote over 50% of it. The ending is so so good. Seriously. If you don't know it, have a watch.

The Terror - self-contained 10 episodes of character-drivendeliciousness. It's a beautifully crafted show (we'll leave the monster VFX aside) and the care that went into it shows. You can rewatch it and always find something new/notice things/make connections.

Spartacus - fun, gorey, characters and pairings I love, and I really like the way they speak in it. The Romans are fucked up, Spartacus and the slaves are here to fuck things up. Obviously we know how it ends... but do we really know how it ends??

ANZAC Girls - if there's a show about WWI military medical stuff, I'll probably enjoy it to some degree, but I loved this one as it was based on real-life events and experiences, and I would recommend anyone with the time to give it a go.

In the Flesh - a will-tear-you-apart show from the BBC, who cancelled it at the end of the second season. Cancelled shows you love build character! But seriously, it's amazing. Rehabilitated zombies as a metaphor for so so many kinds of 'otherness'. Brilliant.

The Umbrella Academy - it's my current comfort show. Seven messed up adopted siblings and apocalypse(s). It does seem lighthearted, but there's a lot more going on beneath the surface.

Black Sails - while I've yet to re-watch it fully, I think everyone should watch it at least once. It also has a proper ending.
