You know what might be vaguely interesting as a concept? Instead of a vampire's sireline dying when the original dies, the spell keeping their sire line in control of themselves disintegrates and you end up with mindless corpses with an endless hunger instead. Zombie AU basically

AU where Damon has mad beef with Elijah, so instead of undaggering him to negotiate the coffin deal with Klaus, he flips a coin to decide which of the other two he’ll free to do it. He gets heads, so he pulls the dagger out of Finn’s chest—only Finn wants absolutely nothing to do with Klaus and refuses. Now the gang just has this dude crashing on their couch. (Damon realizes his mistake, undaggers the other one, and then, in a fit of desperation, has to do a heist to free Rebekah so she can handle Kol.)

Has anyone written a "Bonnie Bennet travels back to 1910s NOLA, becomes regent, and has to deal with Klaus/Kol trying to get her on their side of the dumb turf war" fic yet? Or do I have to do it?
