The whole, lack of season 4 promotion we all believe is because the season is so bad, there is nothing AMC can do to save it so do you think there's a chance they scrap it altogether?
Also why doesn't Melissa want to audition anymore. I used to belong to a group that insisted she was happy with the show or she would say something because she would never deceive her fans, and these same people also insisted she was fine with the title because she would also complain, and one of them pretended they were an insider because they had written for some Twitter account that had like 4000 followers. They hated you, and used to lie about you in the group. It was so bizarre.
Well yeah, that AMC hasn't announced a premiere date yet means they don't know when. Other than 2027. That usually means the network has no confidence in a show, but what happens with S4 depends on other factors too. AMC is a network, so unlike Netflix, they have time slots to fill in their schedule. If there's a hole without DD airing, the show will most likely stay on their slate.
Their quarterly is coming up, though, so that should give us a peek at how AMC is doing.
Melissa is not deceiving her fans and she has been complaining. For instance, her comment on 'cockblocking' was a very overt and public display of dissatisfaction. What is it that she would need to do/say in order for it to count as a complaint? She can't stand up in the middle of the panel at SDCC and say, "You know what? I hate the show."
But, she has been telling viewers, over and over, that she doesn't support the creative direction. "It's their show." Things are "interesting." She's the "new kid." "There are discussions." 'She knows what she doesn't want.' Like the anon in a previous ask said, Melissa only says the show's title when she absolutely has to, i.e. for the mandatory promo spots.
Unless someone works for AMC—above the line, I'm not talking about extras, marketing assistants or random crew on set—they can't be "an insider." Unless you are in the production meetings, which don't include actors if they aren't EPs with actual say and not just vanity titles, you don't have "insider" access to the big picture. Crew and actors on set know the things they need to in order to do their jobs, nothing more. Day actors know what their purpose is, but nothing beyond that and extras don't need to know anything at all.
Like I said a couple of posts ago, I'm not an insider because I don't take part in TWDU production meetings.
If somebody writes reviews, or reports on events for a website or publication, they're at best 'industry adjacent.' They have access to the marketing assistant who's responsible for press passes/screeners or schedules interviews. Nobody in marketing knows anything about what the actual "insiders" think or have said, especially not the poor assistants, because it's a separate department from production.
The people who are on the inside won't advertise it. That would be inviting legal problems and career consequences. Keep that in mind when someone claims to be 'an insider' or to 'have access.'
It's been a little while since I had a hate-filled anon in my asks, but I used to get fans of another ship disparaging my intelligence (among other things) and that one Gimple fan popped up whenever I mentioned him. I guess Caryl fans dislike me too 🤷♀️ That's okay.
