after turkash takes over the presidency of sigma phi, rush week takes on a new face. of course, no one had been hazed since his freshman year, but under his leadership the challenges become more personal. sit somewhere beautiful for an hour and look at as much as you can, then make some kind of art about it. it doesn’t have to be good, it just has to be from you. tell five people you admire what you think of them. do ten acts of kindness. in the middle of rush week, he has a bonding night where pledges and current members all sit together and talk over a huge dinner.
because yeah, he could haze and humiliate new pledges, but why the hell would he want to? what would that accomplish besides establishing distrust and a power imbalance?
so instead, he pushes them the opposite direction. it takes a lot more courage to be emotionally vulnerable than it does to streak across campus.

Turkash’s favorite real food is his momma’s spicy pork dumplings. His favorite candy is honey wasabi suckers he makes himself. Ülkan likes roasted wyrm tail. He has to chase a lot of wyrms away from crops at the farms he works on and sometimes he sets snares out to catch them.
