So here’s something I was planning before that big Spaceworld leak and the reveal of Turbann, but I decided to hurry this one up and get it out there while it’s hot.
Shellder has been around a long time. It might be considered a fissil pokemon if it wasn’t still thriving today. The Shellder which first appeared in the Ordovician sea were Water/Rock type and had two possible evolved forms.
Cloyster was also Water/Rock when it first appears on the fossil record some 450 million years ago. There was a great diversity in the shape, orientation, and construction of their shells.
Coiyler that are able to live independantly of another organism disappeared after the Permian extinction, but some people think it might be possible to get a modern Shellder to evolve into an independant Coiyler under the right conditions today. Water/Psychic. Shellder and Cloyster began appearing in their modern forms (water, water/ice) during the Triassic period. After that time, Shellder appears not to be able to evolve into Coiyler with out the help of a host organism. The only trouble is, Slowpoke wouldn’t exist for another 200 million years or so. In the meantime, Shellder had to find other tails to bite...
