#TuesdayThought - HAPPY TUESDAY! https://www.instagram.com/p/CPk6dJQrRjX/?utm_medium=tumblr

Throwback Tuesday - is that a thing? I dabbled with stained glass making in the late 70's when I first moved to Hawaii and lived on Sunset Point Oahu. (Oahu was our initial landing point because we moved here with 3 dogs (Irish Setter, poi dog and cocker spaniel) and the only quarantine area was on Oahu.) As for the my stained glass making I enjoyed it for several years including here on Kaua'i in Ha'ena where I sold some at the Princeville Plantation Store also one of my first jobs... I had 2 major issues with this art form #1 - it was dangerous to my family - glass shards could be found everywhere #2 - I couldn't seem to create a straight line no matter what. My first husband was a very talented carpenter and had to be uber creative with his frame making to square them off for me. At least my current art form is safer for all involved! Do you have stories like this to share from your past as a creative soul? This resides in my bathroom window facing the rising sun and caught my eye this morning. #throwbacktuesday #stainedglass #creativesoul #hawaiilife #sunsetpoint #oahu #kauai #kauailife #tuesday #tuesdaythought #memorylane #irememberwhen #doglover #nationaldogday #meetthemaker #haena #princeville #northshore #islandlife #islandgirl #1970s #sunrise (at Petrina Blakely Kaua'i Hand Painted Textiles) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1rQAcAhDY2/?igshid=udrco2vzendo

It's Robert Johnsons bday today.
I reckon this here is an accurate representation of what he would look like now if he were alive today. ;)
‘He's a little dog, with a stubby tail, and a moth-eaten coat of tan, and his legs are short, of the wabbly sort; I doubt if they ever ran; and he howls at night, while in broad daylight he sleeps like a bloomin' log...
I talk to him when I'm lonesome, and I'm sure that he understands when he looks at me so attentively and gently licks my hands; then he rubs his nose on my clothes, but I never stop him. For the good Lord knows I can have more clothes, but never a friend like that!’

‘This is how it sounds: — Boom — — — — Whir-er-er-er-er-er-Bang! ‘
‘We just arrived at the dugout when an order came to be on the "alert” as the listening machine had picked up a German message to attack our sector between 8pm and 10pm ; so I got a place where I could peek over, and waited. At 8pm sharp 5 big 250 pound bombs sailed high in the air and lit the outpost; then quiet. At 1am a shell burst on the door, so we went to look. By 2am, 56 shells had burst, within 100 yards of us. It is great; the sporting element comes right up! This is how it sounds: — Boom — — — — Whir-er-er-er-er-er-Bang! and dirt, stones, dust, and snow fill the air. If you are out, which, if you have no duty to do, is foolish, I admit, — you keep to the enemy's side of the trench and trust to luck. The men are so scattered and the trenches so deep that there is slight danger. Not a soul was hit. But it is some sport.’
