[ID: a banner with a dark forest background that reads "How High! an industrial fantasy city". there is a red outline of a wolf. end ID]
How High is a rapidly developing city in the state of Wolfsden. The state is known for its sprawling forests, crystal clear lakes, and snow-peaked mountains. But, never mind that. How High has everything you could want: late-night food stands, local history museums, and most importantly: work, work, work. The city is home to the most state-of-the-art factories this side of whatever that big river’s name is. You might even occasionally see an automobile roaming How High’s maze of streets!
Of course, How High owes its success to The Wolfpack - the state’s very own resident gods. Six strong, a model family, and … sorry, did you say seven? No, you must’ve misheard. Six strong, champions of the working man! They hardly miss the forest this city used to be at all.
The poverty, bigotry, and white-collar crime is nothing you need to bother yourself with. Praise to the Wolves!

In this zine ...
This zine is a setting for How High, a fantasy industrial city. Imagine if 1880s Denver, Colorado was ruled over by a pack of wolf gods who were being driven to madness by rapid industrialization and growing bigotry within their territory. Imagined that? Okay, you've got the gist.
The 8-page zine includes a custom layout on every page, roll tables, NPCs, plot hooks, a pantheon, and more!!
It's the year 3000, and trains are dead. But one man has made a theme park to celebrate their glory days.
One of the TTRPG-things I made at the hospital is out!
It's the year 3000. Trains are a dead technology, replaced by portals. But one man has made a theme park to capture their glory days. Go explore!
I'd love to hear thoughts on this. I know it's not as detailed as it could be, but I wanted to make something manageable, simple, and fun. Hope you like it!
if you're a writer looking for something to spark a short story idea, or a game master looking for the world of your next TTRPG adventure, may i suggest Apocalypse: EDEN?
set in the late 2040s, 15 years after the end of the world, Apocalypse: EDEN tells its setting through the stories of two mysterious narrators. one, living in the dangerous and hungry jungles that now cover the planet's surface. the other, a member of the EDEN commune, who believe they are tasked with being the gardeners for this new world.
thanks to the fact it was made for the Tiny Library Setting Jam, Apocalypse: EDEN is only playing card sized! it's also PWYW, so you don't have to spend a penny, and it's full of my original artwork :)

In a break of tradition that undead usually follow, skeletons being weaker than zombies, in one of my settings it is the opposite.
In this setting, the longer an undead is active for, the more of a consciousness it gains. Overtime the undead’s willpower gets stronger and stronger, and after a while all of the flesh has decayed away and bones are all that’s left. Bones that are being held together by pure force of will. Skeletons are undead that have lived long enough, seen enough battles, and killed enough people for decades, that they have become a waking meat grinder. If you see a skeleton, run.
a while back I mentioned I created a retrofuturistic setting for my Blades in the Dark campaign, but since it's over, figured it would be fun to share here in case you need inspo for your own ttrpg setting
long post under the break!
TL;DR
Red Rock Resort - an iconic hotel on Mars - has been tossed around from owner to owner multiple times within the past two decades, none of which seem to know what to do with it.
But the new owner wants to bring it back to its original glam - with a few modern touches.
(And since this was a Blades in the Dark campaign, my players took advantage of the rebranding to prey on the new flock of high-profile tourists entering the property - only to almost immediately get in over their heads.)
HISTORY OF RED ROCK RESORT
Valles Marinaris is huge - one of the biggest canyons in the galaxy, 10x as long as the grand canyon, and almost 5x as deep.
Navigating it takes a while, even for high-speed transit. So Red Rock Resort was conceived as one of many rest stops along the canyon as visitors made their way to the city of Lunae.
Red Rock Resort gained a reputation for its beautiful canyon overlook - luxury for the common man. Even becoming a destination in its own right.
But over the years, transit got better, and the city of Lunae became THE hottest tourist destination in the solar system. The natural charms of Red Rock Resort lost their luster in favor of Lunae's mixed-reality (MR) wonderworlds.
WHAT IS MR?
Imagine if you could step into the world of VR Chat without a headset - as in, the world around you can change, including your own appearance.
In it's infancy, you needed special designated spaces to run MR experiences. But this tech has been around for 150 years. Now it can be broadcast over an entire city.
Given that users have total customizability on how they present themselves, along with endless possibilities for concerts and entertainment, you can see why nearly every business in Lunae incorporates MR in some capacity.
THE KEY TO THE FUTURE IS IN THE PAST
The new owners of Red Rock Resort are leaning into its vintage appeal - not away from it. It recently got a renovation with the idea that guests will experience luxury the way it was meant to be 50 years ago
There will be modern touches of course, the biggest of which is the development of a nearby Pop-Up Complex, with each vintage-looking storefront able to host a pop-up shop using MR tech. The entertainment spaces are also getting MR upgrades, bringing it up to speed with some of the mega-venues in Lunae.
The key to its vintage appeal will be presentation. New music and entertainment acts will be more mellow, restaurants and bars will rely heavily on the natural beauty of the canyon, and MR elements were recently installed throughout the property, including a swimming pool-arcade.
SETTLEMENTS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM
(having these handy helped my players create their backstories! I wanted to have them be newcomers to the criminal circuit on Mars)
Earth - Most now live in the high elevations of South America and East Asia due to rising sea levels, though industries here are far better stewards to the environment. You'll find a mix of academics, agricultural workers, artists, factory workers, and a few pockets of white collar businesses.
Moon - You know those towns whose entire economies run off of a single truck stop? That's the Moon. Though it's not without its charms - you'll find plenty of boutique shops and restaurants, a few college towns, and massive fueling stations called Buc-ee's.
Mars - Once the crown jewel of the solar system before explorers continued onward to Titan. Now considered a tourist hub for those who want to experience amazing natural wonders like Olympus Mons or Valles Marinaris - or lose themselves to the mixed-reality wonderworlds of Lunae.
Floatilla - This isn't really a planet so much as a loose group of merchant ships that conglomerate near the asteroid belt. They're the lifeblood of trade in the solar system, and always a welcome sight for long-distance travelers.
Callisto - A moon of Jupiter, the entire civilization was built underground to withstand the intense radiation from the nearby gas giant. A blue collar settlement with a strong union, they've developed a deep sense of community here, with values rooted in helping your neighbors however you can.
Titan - A moon of Saturn, Titan has been terraformed into a natural paradise. Think of it like the pacific northwest of the solar system. Tech companies [derogatory] and other white collar businesses thrive here, with natural getaways always close by.
Like the other two loops, the Roslyn Loop (RosLoop) was built during the scientific boom of the 1970s. It brought a huge influx of workers to the previous mining town to build, then staff the particle collider for specific research. Roslyn was chosen for a few reasons. Washington was no stranger to cutting edge nuclear research, and many of the scientists that had been working at the Hanford Site moved to this installation as a career opportunity.
Furthermore, the already hollow ground of the Coal mines provided an easy opportunity for a number of booster rings to be constructed for the high energy research needed.
The influx of the scientists brought a want to make families. Some families had already lived in Roslyn before the loop, now they are about equal in number.
Roslyn is also interesting given its distance from both a major Magnetrine Highway, as well as the cascade mountains and greater forest area.
The city is just over a mile in diameter, with the loop sitting just northwest of the town’s edge, making it great to access many of the amenities by bike, or even by foot.
The summers are warm, but not hot, and many Kids on break will bike to the local town of Cle Elum, just a 15 minute ride down the coal mine trail, right on the yakima river to swim and play on the rocky shores.
Adults will most likely be found at 'The Brick' or 'Mako’s Place' for drinks on off hours, or bumming around the Northwest Improvement Co. general goods store.
Also in town is a newly opened video and home computing equipment retailer named CompuTech in response to the growing demand from the tech-savvy scientists. This also was coupled with the opening of Silver Rocket Electronics consignment for various second hand oscilloscopes and other test equipment, but sometimes through the rubble extraordinary things could be found. Also downtown is Basecamp Books, a bookstore. There is a small medical clinic downtown, but more serious injuries may need to be treated at the Cle Elum Hospital 20 minutes bike, 5 mins car ride away.
