Something so bizarre and compelling, your own face so familiar and yet so strangely odd it sends chills creeping along your skin.

You look away from the phone, towards the window

outside...

Your senses rising in their clarity, perception heightened and yet your reactions so slow

was this a dream?

You know it is not, focus on your hands and grasp your phone tightly as you step out into an alien landscape

"...the end of time..."

"Dance..." your own voice whispering to you from your phone, through dimensions, impossible and true.

Sure,

many things can change our perspective of reality

drugs

emotions

dreams

time...

but these are fleeting, momentary lapses in the otherwise cohesive grid of agreed upon normality.

And this was something more... something growing and building. Lasting past the ride of a psychedelic high and its consequential reconfiguring of selfhood. These were permanent, unexplainable changes in the structure of observable existence, and they were becoming more frequent

more intense

It had indeed started slowly, with identifiable changes that could be described;

"see there? a rosebush that appears to give off its own illumination! a prismatic glowing!"

Laughable, but disconcerting in its persistence! Mystifying with no way to make it stop!

Return to normal? The definition was becoming more flexible, the strangeness was hidden from No One.

Novelty was spreading, most were shrugging it off, continuing the mundane routine of their familiar existence.

Until some bizarre thing made them stumble, taken aback, glancing about...

A poll3n was in the air, many were allergic, craving relief from odd phenomenon.
