some people work with spirits such as planetary intelligences and angels, a concept rooted in medieval christianity and other religious sects. agrippa popularized the idea of those particular celestial spirits. others work with olympic spirits. i do not work with any of them because i'm not particularly religious and don't want to appropriate from cultures and religions that are not mine to do so. as for the olympic spirits, i just don't have a connection to them nor do i really wish to.

i practice astrolatry - the cosmos does not have a representative. it does not serve god. it is god.

i don't see the planets as angels, or people, or animals. i see them as planets and communicate with them as such - i heard from a popular astromage recently that the planets are just rocks in space with no inherent energy of their own but that's a bullshit take that i do not agree with therefore do not subscribe to. you can channel and harness planetary energy just as you would by drawing down the moon, except my methodology involves considering the fact that all planets emit infrared light therefore emit literal energy. i digress.

when i pray to saturn, i think of myself sitting on its rings asking for favors. sometimes i hold the moon in my hands when we chat.
