Making Vampire Altars
I just suffered for three days so Im gonna share what I learnt. Note this assumes you know TSRW, how to apply bones, and how to mesh, uv map etc. Not for beginners. I dont know why, but the Late Night altar needs a normal map or the lighting gets fucked up. And its very finicky so you like me might be tempted to use the Supernatural one. You do and are then surprised when the flame shows up... Away from the candles?? Yea this is cuz for some reason, even if you use the Supernatural one as a wso base, the bones applied will be the LN one. Dont ask me why, I cannot tell you. And no, you cannot get rid of the candle flames either. SO what youre gonna do is this. Import both the LN and Supernatural OBJ files in together. Make your base mesh, using the foot length from the LN one, and the top length from the Supernatural one. This is so the candles dont hang in the air. (or maybe you want floating candles or tall floor candles go wild honestly)
Rip the candles mesh from the LN one and DONT move them to keep them aligned with the flame FX Separate the wick from the candles and holders. Make your custom altar mesh/important what you want to convert to an altar. Then merge the candles and holder with the altar mesh. Leave the wick in its own mesh. Make the shadow for under the item. You should have HIGH POLY Group 0 - Altar bed, candles, candle holder Group 1 - Wick standalone Group 2 - Shadow LOW POLY Group 0 - Altar bed, candles, candle holder Group 1 - Wick standalone
Now you can enjoy a new altar without wanting to eat your keyboard or ripping your hair out.
I tried to write a tutorial on how to make posters for the Sims 3 'cause I saw someone on discord say they felt a video tutorial was too confusing. This is my best attempt at writing a tutorial, and I hope it helps. If not, well I'll just have to edit what doesn't work to make it clearer.
IMPORTANT: If you export as .package through TSRW:
You need to compress your .package! TSRW, being as reliable as always, does NOT compress your package files exported through File Contents, but it DOES compress Sims3Packs (the difference in file size can be seen when changing those Sims3Packs to packages). Just use S3PE to open up your package, CTRL-A to select everything, go to Resource and click Compressed, then save!
I keeeeeeep seeing package sizes that go up to 40 MB or more because they have uncompresed 2048 IMG files, which add up. Depending on what your package contains, compressing it will bring it down to around 2,000 KB or less!
TSRW Help wanted
I use TSRW for the limited amount of CC I create. Posters, cd covers, announcements, general imagery. These days, it's my Hot Wings merch maker, basically. 😉 But my installation of this little program has been acting up. This picture below shows my issue; when I load a mesh, the preview doesn't show up. Things can still be created and come out okay, but I'm literally working blind here:
I think something is simply corrupted in my installation, and the simple solution would be to uninstall it and reinstall it. But when I try to uninstall it, any which way, it apparently doesn't uninstall properly because the moment I reinstall, I see my "recent projects" still in the list and everything looks the same. I want a fresh start and it's somehow not working.
Any bright ideas?

Help: Can't Export Textures in TSR Workshop
I'm unable to select/display/export TS3 textures for objects in TSR Workshop (version 2.0.88 aka the 'good" version). The drop-down menu in the "Texture" tab is always blank, and no textures are ever listed in the "Project Contents" window either.
I've re-installed the app/TS3 and can't seem to fix it. It's happening for all objects accessed via cloning or loading the package/sims3pack file. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how to get around this issue, I could use 'em.
Any TSRW Experts in the House?
I'm not sure when this issue first arose as it's been a while since I've attempted to clone any TS3 CAS content with TSR Workshop, but the program will crash 100% of time if I select any of the CAS options. It still seems to run fine when selecting the Object options.
The window which shows the list of content will open and it shows the loading bar but then hangs before shutting down. It seems to crash quicker if I make any attempt to move the mouse cursor.
If I try to import an existing CAS package, it will open but all textures are missing.
Does anyone have a solution or any idea that I could try to fix this? I've already run a program repair as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
Tutorial : Kitchen Counters
I haven’t posted for ages, and that’s mainly because I’ve been having a melt down over kitchen counters (as one does). There is a significant lack of tutorials on them I discovered, and so after weeks of pain, and smashing my face into brick walls,and waking up in the middle of the night going ‘maybe this will work?’ only to crash into another dead end, I finally figured it out, and so with indefatigable joy, I present to you my tutorial on kitchen counters.
This tutorial is only going to cover how to use TSRW to achieve this. I’m not going to be discussing modelling, UV mapping, or texturing. There are plenty of tutorials on that, and so I assume that before you have even got to the situation of building up this object in TSRW, that you have a model of your counter, textured it, exported it, and it’s all good to go.
