New video we just finished for skate team theworble.com. This was shot over one day in Beverly, MA, using the very new TS3Cine high speed camera as well as a Canon 5D Mark III. More to come on tech feedback around the TS3, but definitely pumped to see how it handled these skate sequences...

There is a new high speed camera contender on the market for those people who don't want to pay $2K a day only to find they need 5Ks just to get a stop on the Phantom Flex (I've been one of them) or trust Twixtor enough to blow a great gig in post. Meet the Fastec TS3Cine.
CMOS Sensor, 1200 ISO (color), 500FPS at 1080 (now throw that into Twixtor and really go nuts), C F or PL mounts, Cinema DNG and Avi (?) capture, totally portable, and only 4 lbs. But, it still eats up gobs of drive space 13 seconds per 8 gigs at 500fps but you can get 125gb standard and upgrade to 256gb internal. The price, ~$37,000 all tricked out, but that sure beats buying a ~$115,000 Phantom.
Unfortunately, it's pretty new, and if you want to rent one you need to live in/around Boston unless you have the cash to ship the camera around and want to get something new out of a FedEx box and just go for it. But, it'll spread, wondering if Abel will pick it up in NYC considering their near monopoly on the Phantom productions on the East coast.
