which leitmotif are you talking about, you got me extremely curious
so i made a post earlier about how there is a three-note leitmotif in kikuchiās dragon ball z score. i THINK in most of its appearances itās something like F5, B4, D#5. i donāt have enough music theory knowledge to word this properly, but any of these three notes are probably sometimes slightly transposed in certain songs to fit the scale properly, but it still draws to mind this aforementioned leitmotif.
page cut:
instead of going through the anime and marking where exactly these songs appear first, iām going to go through the Dragonball Z BGM Collection Discs in order of tracklist since itās easier to do that.
so the first time this appears in the disc is here at 0:08:
https://youtu.be/oQW5aiZ4Sck
in this incarnation, itās these three notes: F4, A3, C#4. disregarding the octave, the latter two notes were brought down by a full step for the reason i mentioned in the first paragraph.
the second instance in which i could find was in this track at 0:17:
https://youtu.be/g2R8YhcNLGg
this is definitely F, B, D#. the notes that follow are going to be used in some android and cell saga tracks.
it appears again in this ubiquitous frieza saga track at 0:28:
https://youtu.be/94eJ6ljnza8
also F, B, D#
i couldnāt find any more occurrences on this disc but i didnāt really listen to all the track thoroughly since thatās more effort than iām willing to put in LMAO
it appears again here in disc 2 at 2:33 this time with more of a melody afterwards that youāll no doubt here in some cell saga tracks
https://youtu.be/G7tYFrEaegM
definitely F, B, D#
this track is interesting, thereās multiple occurrences. itās here again as sort of a series of stabs? or something? itās just musical punctuation. at 0:08:
https://youtu.be/sutd5pH_6-Y
the same use of this particular set of notes is used again at 0:33 and 0:35 brought up a step or something.
THEN itās used more as a driving tune at 1:13 with the melody i mentioned earlier following the F, B, D#
disc 3 has a potpurri of tracks between buu saga and cell saga. this particular one iām certain appears in the cell games saga first. iirc itās during the cell and goku fight at some point? anyway, the song starts out with this leitmotif so i suppose itās 0:00
https://youtu.be/CI8SzHziPWg
i probably missed one or two or more because i didnāt listen to any buu saga track after that one but you get the idea.
forklar til meg koffor du har ein sang som heite "jeg kommer alltid tilbake", men du sa at du aldri skulle komma tilbake til "denne spøkelsesbukta" nÄr grusomme gabriel kom. hmmm?
