Truedan: Pearl Milk Tea
Tried at Truedan Box Hill with no ice and no sugar.
I do not come from a line of tea aficionados.
I am white. Very white, as far as AncestryDNA is concerned. My parents are Australian upper-middle class suburbanites who spend their weekends sipping coffees and shopping for smallgoods at the markets. When tea is had, it is is submerged in water briefly, allowing just enough time for the colour to turn a chestnut red.
So when my dad raves about a bubble tea, you know it's got to be something extraordinary.
My husband and I agree that Truedan's pearl milk tea is among the best we've ever had. And it's all to do with the flavour of the milk tea itself. We don't know how they do it. Is it to do with the quality of the tea? How they roast it? The sweetness their creamer brings?
We don't have an answer. But it's good enough that this is our staple order whenever we're in Box Hill. No matter how much hotpot we've had for lunch, afternoon tea will be a pearl milk tea from Truedan.
