One of many books that’s been sitting on my shelf for years and I just never got to, but now there’s an adaptation by Park Chan-Wook (called No Other Choice), so seemed like time to knock that one out.

And I highly recommend it - it’s a fantastic crime thriller.

First of all, as I say, I didn’t just finish it on Wednesday - I started it then; it’s a fast, breezy read. But it’s also just such a rich, ingenious yarn: a man is downsized from his job and can’t find a new job, so he figures out who has a better resume than him and starts murdering his competition.
