man i wish adhd (really the rsd) didnt come with emotional dysregulation.
we can get so intensely angry or bothered by things that youd think would be insignificant. and hold on to that.
so it seems like we have a big temper but god. it's so much more than that
So let's talk about ADHD and attachment!
This doesn't necessarily apply to everyone with ADHD. But it definitely does for me and other ADHDers that I know.
We attach very easily. To people. To places. To objects. I have a few theories that it has something to do with our emotional regulation (or rather lack thereof). This also ties into that lovely RSD that I mention over and over again!
We tend to hyperfocus too which never helps with the attachment. The problem is, when we attach to people it can be REALLY hard to honor not only our own boundaries but theirs as well. With either time and space, messages, emotionally oversharing, becoming depressed or anxious when they aren't around, the list goes on.
Now I'm sure there's more at play here with what someone's attachment type is already along with other comorbid factors like depression and anxiety. But I think there's a bigger link between attachment and ADHD than is already known.
If anybody has any thoughts or experiences with this or someone that you know with ADHD please chime in!
so...y'all are really telling me you're out here with your brain making
