W A S T H I S A C A S E ( S T U D Y ) ? Man, where do I begin? I'll be honest, the music industry is soo warped on so many levels, especially with the presence & power of social media affecting it, it's near impossible to determine what's real about it, particularly when the end goal is money and entertainment. Still, for the sake of this argument & this discussion, we're gonna give the music industry the benefit of the doubt about it's level of realism & try & dissect what occured between @joebudden & @nickiminaj that started furiously with her #QueenRadio & ended peacefully on his #JoeBuddenPodcast Nicki Minaj is undoubtedly one of the best lyricists & album creators to arrive in the last decade with staggering commercial success & when it's all said & done, she may go down as the greatest female MC ever in #HipHop. That's not the #Trinidian in me talking (Nicki, born #OnikaTanyaMaraj, also reps the 🇹🇹 proudly), that's her stellar career speaking that to life. Sadly, Nicki's been largely on the defense. When #CardiB became a breakout star, Minaj's villian reputation was at an all time high. So when Budden pretty much refused to admit to his part in the recent narrative painted about her, Nicki cussed the living daylights out Joe & subsequently cut his mic off on #QueenRadio, only to continue to make ammends seemingly through Joe's co-hosts @mal_bytheway & @thisisrory & continued the "interrogation" on Budden's podcast After Nicki took Joe to task again about his lack of accountability, dismissed @richforever viciously because of his lack of loyalty & angrily went at Rory because she misunderstood he was trying to ask, Minaj then answered a bunch of generic questions about streaming that brought the calm back to EPISODE 271 of Joe's Pod. It was entertaining I guess, worthy of repeated spins for laughs, but I learned nothing about Nicki that didn't already know. It felt like a prime opportunity wasted & I can't tell if that was on Joe or Nicki or both I will end with this. Nicki & Joe should NEVER do these types of interviews again. It's beneath them both.
