So let’s get started with

Unohana

Unohana is one of the first to advocate for Yura’s continued existence during the captain’s meeting called upon Yamamoto discovering those rumors about Yura being Aizen or some sort of creation of his were true.

AEIWAM’s Aizen is TERRIFIED of Unohana, and Yura is no different. Unohana can hear Yura’s hammering heart every time he walks by her office.

Entering the division headed by a captain he fears above all else in the soul society may seem a strange choice, but Yura has his reasons.

One of them is while Unohana scares him in a deep, primal way, that makes him ADMIRE her. One of the defining features of Yura’s character is how much of a stranglehold Aizen’s perceptions have on his psyche.

While Aizen was a dangerous threat to the soul society, in AEIWAM’s canon, he was nowhere near the threat he or Yura thinks he was. To Yura, Aizen is terrifying, due to the threat AIZEN thought he posed, which has affected Yura’s perceptions of him.

For Unohana to terrify Aizen, the greatest of all threats in his mind, she must be a shining beacon of morality, power, and hope, and as such, while he is terrified of her, he also idolizes her, and puts her on a pedestal so high it would make the most hardcore fandom Stan blush.

Unohana’s interactions with Yura have done nothing to dull this perception of her. Following his joining of the 4th division, He’s given a plague doctor’s mask and a hood by Unohana, to conceal his face. To Yura; The mask being like the ones worn by those who fought one of the deadliest diseases known to man, despite many lacking either the means or the knowledge to treat the afflicted, symbolized Unohana’s trust that he could truly be the complete opposite of Aizen: Someone who’s compassion manifested was trying to truly help those in need, even if he at present lacked the knowledge.

Small fires raged inside a structure that had been a part of the Coruscanti skyline for centuries.

And nobody seemed to care.

That was probably the worst thing for Luna, as she watched the temple. Even from her window in her father’s penthouse, she could feel the light of every Jedi go out, one by one, like the stars at the heat death of the universe.

Most of the galaxy would never know how she heaved into the fresher, feeling the lights go out, feeling the force scream at the loss of its children.

Most of the galaxy would never know just how sick she felt looking at the senate building. The festering darkness and hate that clouded the air around it denser than any speeder smog.

Her father came into her room later, hugged her tightly, saying how grateful he was he didn’t let the Jedi take her, asking her if she saw now why he didn’t like her visiting the temple, speaking with those who could have been her family.

The Jedi were dead.

The republic was gone.

There’s a shop in the capital that opened up two days ago that sells high quality goods, both magical and mundane. Its also almost always empty and the locals avoid it like the plague.

The reason being everyone believes the owner/shopkeep to be a witch.

I figured that since they said OCs within AEIWAMs universe were okay I thought I’d make a character sheet for one of my OCs for WIAS (What is a soul if not that which defines itself?) . My favorite of the bunch: our protagonist, who has the unfortunate fate of being my favorite to torture. Not because of a lack of moral fiber, quite the opposite, it’s because torturing this one makes for a more interesting story in my opinion. Who would I be discussing? Why, a little someone known as Yura Yakushi.

Yura has a unique problem in the fact that he looks identical to a younger Aizen. Why is this? Well because he is Aizen. Or, at the very least, he is the parts of Aizen that the man felt were hindering him in his goal to become god. His empathy, his ability to feel remorse, that kind of stuff. Just after stabbing Momo, Aizen was feeling this annoying thing called “guilt” and decided that mutilating his soul with his own damn zanpakuto would be a good idea. And, that little ball of reishi in his hand, he tossed it out of his office window.

Unfortunately for our protagonist, Aizen didn’t destroy his ability to feel remorse for his actions, he instead took the guilt he felt for those actions and cut it out of his soul. So, who is Yura Yakushi? He is a literal ball of guilt and self hatred.unfortunately, he also still has a fragment of Aizen’s survival instinct. So, tempted as he is to let himself starve to death, he figures he could at least do a modicum of good as hollow food a shinigami.

Yura as a person is full of contradictions. He’s tortured by his resemblance to and the memories of a man he is not. He can tell you exactly what Aizen was thinking when he decided on his course of action, and also tell you said plan was not only horribly flawed, but also batshit insane. He would like nothing more than for a hollow to put him out of everyone’s misery, but unfortunately his survival instincts have the annoying habit of trying to keep him alive. He seeks to be as distant from his colleagues as possible in order to protect the secret of the face he wears, but also comes to deeply crave their companionship.

Trigger took another drink from the third bottle of whiskey that night. He’d been cleared from duty for the next day, and if they called him in? A rez will cure any hangover. Lucinda hadn’t said anything yet, just silently watching him.

He couldn’t tell if it was anger or shame he felt, which only made him feel the need to take another drink.

“Trigger…” she finally said quietly. “It’s been three weeks…three weeks of just…non stop patrols, strikes, crucible, salvage ops on Titan- You need to take time to process everything.” “That’s what I’m doing now aren’t I?” “No. This-” Lucinda nudged the bottle in his hand with her shell. “Is numbing yourself. You can’t keep running away from how you feel about everything.” Trigger barked out a laugh that was anything but mirthful. “Watch me.” He said. He saw the petals of Lucinda’s shell wiggle in annoyance. “If Amanda saw you were drinking again-” “What? She’d yell at me? Call me a damn fool like she did after Tevis died and I did this? Well she won’t. She can’t, because she’s dead. Everything I wanted to say, or do, or make right with her? Never going to happen. Even if we called every ghost not with the damned hive back to her grave, and even if one of ‘em raised the body there? That wouldn’t be her. And I wouldn’t want it to be.” Trigger dropped the now empty bottle in his hand, letting it shatter on the floor. His face dropped into his hands. “Trigger…I didn’t want to do this…but you’re not giving me a choice. Amanda recorded this in case she died and you were…you about it.”

An audio message began to play as Amanda’s voice came through. “Recording? Okay…Trigger, if Lucinda’s playin’ this, it means I’m gone. Hopefully because I was fightin’ and not because I got squished by some new light’s jumpship landing gear. But it also means that you’re Drinking again. Maybe even burying yourself in guardian stuff?” Trigger winced. She knew him well. “Well, if you’re doing that? Knock it off! I get it, even if things between us weren’t…great…because of Ul- Crow, and how I’ve been with him; You can’t keep doin’ this. Not to yourself, and especially not to Lucinda and Naori. Trig, you can’t give in now, They still need you around. I know it ain’t easy, but…forward momentum buddy. For me? I know you’re hurtin’ but folks still need you in tip top shape. You can do it Trig. Be brave, and tell Crow I- I’m sorry. Even if I wasn’t able to work things out, It ain’t his fault. It never was. Alright, I’ve rambled on long enough, and you need time to sober up. Actually sober up, y’hear me? I don’t care about whatever kind of hangover you guardians get bein’ able to drink more than us normals you don’t get out of crawling back into a bottle easily! Get it together friend, I’ll miss ya.”

so you’ve got this protagonist who has a computer right? Everyday Joe Schmoe/Plane Jane? Well one day on their computer they leave a blank word document open while they leave/got to bed, and when they get back there’s this poem written on the document. Now when they examine their house to make sure no one has broken in, (they find nothing) they examine the poem and show it to. A history buff friend, who finds out it’s written in accurate sixteenth century English. Thinking this is odd, and wondering if they could get another letter or poem, they write out questions for the mystery poem writer, asking what year it is for them, what their life is like, who’s the current leader of the country, etc. and they leave the computer alone before they go to bed. When they check the computer again they find the letter has been replaced with a response, all answers to the questions are historically accurate and the writer is extremely confused about how a letter from the supposed distant future found its way to them. The longer the two correspond the more research is done using the responses. Near the house of the protagonist they find buried material matching that which the correspondent says their home is made of. Then when the person from the past (hensforth will be rknown as the “pastagonist”) asks about the protagonist’s time, they’re confused, because their friend says it’s the year 2109? That’s when they get a new letter from said future individual.

so the Traveler decides that in order to better understand those she’s chosen to make her stand with, she makes a new aspect of herself in the form of this pale blue woman. Like an awoken without any marking. she’s just FASCINATED by being able to walk among her chosen and being able to interact with the world on such a personal level again. She also likes being able to talk to people without exhausting herself and having to use complicated visions and dreams.
