Why can’t trees be quiet?

This wasn’t happening yesterday or even a couple hours ago, then suddenly trees were just casually chatty and they wouldn’t shut up. Goodbye were my days of silence, all I could listen to was various plants’ inner dialogue.

Truthfully, I don’t care about moving you to the better sunlight or relieving you of the horrendous tire swing, just leave me alone.

After five minutes of me screaming, I heard a voice from the windowsill, “Why are you screaming?”

It was the city’s local heroine, Mix sitting cross legged on the window. She was so comfortable sitting so high because she could literally turn into anything, including birds. Lucky her, I just had tree’s thought’s to hear.

“They won’t stop.” I held my ears, trying to get the plants’ voices out of my head. I probably looked like a lunatic to Mix, I could care less though.

“What won’t stop?” Mix was next to me now, hands delicately removing my hands from my ears probably incredibly confused as to why I didn’t have a wound but was screaming like a loony.

“The voices, I can hear the trees’ voices!” I hollered.

“Look here, you will be fine, okay? If you want I can get you in touch with someone that can help you with handling your powers.”

I put up my hand and blinked, “wait, I have powers?”
