@botopsy I wish that this book were more widely available and known. It's the really good addition to the story of Twitch and Spitfire and Jawbreaker and Aftermath and shows how the characters developed. I also think more of Twitch and Optimus would've been interesting, I know the finale touched upon that with the Matrix, and also I would've been curious about more Thrash and Megatron. Thrash never liked Megatron (makes sense) BUT they are very similar to each other throughout the series!
I've been thinking about a lot of potential Earthspark story ideas, too! Here are my plot bunnies surrounding this show currently based on things I think would be cool to expand upon:
1) Hashtag has dreams of being giant, a Titan, but then being hurt and abandoned. She realizes she's dreaming of being Terratronus! She talks to her family and Alex tells her about the transformer tradition of Cityspeaking. Nightshade and Mo think Hashtag could definitely be a Cityspeaker. After all, she has this special ability to open the doors inside Terratronus's body! But Alex thinks this is a little odd because the Cityspeakers had to train to develop their skills, and Terratronus can speak to everyone. But maybe Hashtag is just a natural? After the kids venture and speak to Terratronus, it becomes clear: Hashtag is not a Cityspeaker. She doesn't have a special ability to connect to the Titan. Hashtag's ability to open the doors is just due to the tech in her alt-mode. She's been having these dreams because she and Terratronus have experienced similar trauma. And she's really disappointed and upset. Does that mean they have no special connection? Without the cyber-sleeves, they'll never be able to sync up again. But Terratronus makes it clear to her that they'll always have the memories of having been synced together, and that the understanding the two of them share has made Terratronus's life so much brighter.
2) Robby is having a lot of trouble making friends. He keeps craving the constant communication he had with Izzy, even though he was being used and none of it was real. It's so easy to fall into this familiar pattern when he doesn't know how to connect with new people without saving them/sacrificing for them/being a hero. Eventually, he starts meeting with Izzy even though he knows he shouldn't. This leads to Izzy getting him to let her out, and she shapeshifts into Starscream and leaves the Autobot base, then blasts off into the sky. Robby is horrified because he knows everyone won't understand why he did something so stupid! The real Starscream points how that what Izzy did is also incredibly stupid—she doesn't have the energy to fly all the way to the Quintessons' homeworld. Robby eventually has to track down Izzy and finds her sitting alone in her true form on top of the Spacebridge. She has the technical knowledge to reprogram it and go back home, but Robby calls her out on hesitating. The truth is, Izzy knows if she returns, she'll be killed. Robby doesn't understand why she even betrayed him and everybody else when the Quintesson Judge was so horrible. All her life, that abuse is what "family" and "home" has meant. It's too scary for her to try to do anything different than what she was made for, even though she didn't actually to have to kill Robby. And Robby gets it, because he's been too scared to try a new way to make friends and instead ran right back to her, even though she hurt him.
I've never seen this discussed before: do you think Izzy was created specifically for the mission to learn about the Cyber-sleeves and figure out a way for the Quintessons to take back Quintus Prime's power? Mo says she's sorry Robby's girlfriend turned out to be an "ancient alien," but is that just what she believes given what she knows? Could she be referring to how Quintessons in general are ancient aliens? Because in an earlier episode, Prowl specifically said that nobody has ever heard of such a being (as a Quintesson shapeshifter).
Because if this is the case, the way Izzy acted while undercover could partially be due to a lack of experience in general, not simply due to being an alien... but I'm unsure. If she/her type of Quintesson was only created after that one Quintesson Executioner had that fight with Mo and got shot back into space, Izzy would be an extremely new life form and it would make her story extra depressing! Of course, Izzy doesn't at all act like a human who's <one would behave since she's not a human (this is why while G1 characters like Nightbird or Scourge might have just been created, they are robotic and have programming so they don't act their physical age), but it would still be sad.
If Izzy isn't that new a creation, and it's just that she was only dispatched to Earth very recently, what was she doing before this mission? What was her life like given that she references how uncaring her "family" is compared to the Maltos? Given that we see the Quintesson Judge being abusive, I'm sure Izzy too was abused, but in what ways? I wonder what it looked like for her during a training period or something like that. At no point does Izzy behave in a way that places her as being much more mature than someone like her now very ex-boyfriend, and she did a very good job fooling everyone, so I wonder if she had to study the mannerisms of the human who had the form she was copying or something like that.
All of these things I think there isn't enough information to draw conclusions about, and are part of why I hope Izzy is explored more.

I think Izzy is such an interesting concept and I really want to know more about the character. Izzy is super interesting and I think if this show weren't released in large batches maybe there would be more discussion about that? I appreciate that this show gives some more spotlight to the non-Judge Quintessons that's made me feel invested. In G1, I don't think their presence was explained particularly well and I was always confused whenever I saw a Quintesson who was humanoid without five faces. The only other time I remember a Quintesson Executioner getting any attention in a story for example was in the Marvel UK comics, but nobody is going to remember Ghyrik (whose name I had to look up), and the story he and the others were featured in was a misogynistic low point of the continuity.

I actually think a great thing to look at in the fandom space is to compare how Starscream and Izzy in Earthspark are seen by fans... they're extremely similar, both being heavily implied to have been abused, both taking advantage of the trust of one of the child main heroes, both claiming it's not personal, both ending up in Autobot custody etc., but even though Izzy had just as much development and potentially more than Starscream, the show is "ruined" because of how Starscream was handled whereas I basically never see anyone talk about Izzy unless it's to talk about what a creep she is and how she was never a good character from the start. I don't really see anybody saying that because Izzy genuinely did like Robby and the Malto family despite everything she did, and because she says she wasn't treated well by the Quintessons, that it means she was already redeemed/has to be redeemed somehow.
More Earthspark thoughts: Izzy and Starscream are actually so incredibly similar to each other, right?
There's pretty clear implications both were abused/oppressed
They betrayed people who were attached to them even to their own massive detriment
They both tried to still get on others' good sides when it was too late
They're both in Autobot custody for now and it needs to be decided what can be done with them
They have no clear home because everyone who would've once been allied with them left the planet
