From Earthspark season 2, episode 2, "In Ruins"

I have a lot of thoughts about this (haven't seen the full batch of new episodes yet so I don't know if this is further elaborated upon)! If this information about Quintus Prime is accurate, I feel something cyclical is being implied in this show when it comes to oppression given what's happened to the Quintessons, Cybertronians (and their War), and now Terrans.

Also, if Terrans and Quintessons are sister species in this show, then the Dweller shown in season 1 was presumably life seeded by Quintus, not the Quintessons, unlike the Dweller and its kind who were made and locked away by the Quintessons in the Sunbow Cartoon. I also wonder if we'll see Quintessa in this show given that in the last season, Mandroid brought Sharkticons to Earth and claimed he had liberated them from their masters, who would presumably have been Quintessons.

And... is this finally an explanation for Alex's history book having a passage about Demons highlighted back in season 1?

It has been suggested that the Demons in the darkness were the world’s original inhabitants, locked away beneath the world by Primus, though this remains unconfirmed.

The Demons are as far as I know only in the Marvel comics, and were the energy-siphoning, pre-transformer life made by Primus. In that continuity, Primus made transformers to match Unicron's ability to transform, while I think the implication is that the Demons were based on Unicron's outward appearance and desire to feed. However, Primus abandoned the Demons and they were left sealed away in the sewers of Cybertron.
