I hope you are ready for my 30-40 minute video essay on Transformers: Prime Ransack who appeared in the 2nd novel (Exiles)
Transformers Aligned Novels - Shockwave's obsession with the Thirteen Primes
So I've been doing some digging on my various readthroughs of the novels and Covenant of Primus, and I've stumbled across something very interesting.
Many of Shockwave's experiments directly mirror the Thirteen Primes. He tries to imbue attributes of the primes into his victims. Notably Amalgamous, Nexus, and Onyx - triple changers, combiners, predacons, and dinobots. Similarly with Quintus Prime, how he created life by creating Trypticon - and with Solus Prime, all of his devices and weaponry mimicking her talents.
We also see how he works with memory and knowledge with the Cortical Psychic Patch. It's my belief that he intended to use it on Alpha Trion, in order to attempt to access the memories of Cybertron.
I propose that he was attempting to mimic the powers of the Primes in order to mitigate their abilities, and perhaps to experiment with the fabric of reality itself. He knew that one he had their power he could start looking into the metaphysical and warp reality itself to his whims.
Gives Alpha Trion's quote a hell of a lot of weight;
"You would bring down all of creation just to satisfy your own ambition."
Oh. Oh no.
The evil thoughts are winning.
I never recovered from that Overlord/DJD/Megatron gangbang fic and now I have the STRONGEST urge to write my own. I'm not keen on writing valveplug, not my strongest preference, but I have the HC that Megs would have something like one. He's a big bot, but is a jet. He would need to be aerodynamic and an orifice would easily shave off weight. Plus after the novels, I think that during the age of rust, bots would modify their bodies to chase pleasure highs and do REALLY weird shit. Tentacles, multiple holes, some in places they shouldn't be.
Meg's... whatever, his cuckoo, would ideally be multi layered with foldable ridges but still accommodating for bots that aren't half his size. A tube would go pretty far up and in, for when a bot has some freakytron appendage but the inner tube would not affect his alt mode, keeping him light in the air. He's still huge, but his insides are fined tuned for speed on top of the power.
Post Prime series, Megs is imprisoned, The Wreckers and Bee don't forgive as easily.
That's the premise.
Ultra Magnus would be in charge, I think his cell would be pretty standard since he gave himself up with his army basically destroyed. No one would be allowed near him but team Prime. Bulkhead would need some encouragement to participate because he's so sweet. (on the surface) Wheeljack is ace but still has his preferences. He'd watch, every time. Bee shared a body with him once, that's more than plenty to make him real creative with how he handles Megs.
I have no idea how I'll write all of this, but boy golly do I love Prisoner Megs.
Feels like what Transformers Exiles tells me about this version of Prowl is that his true calling is being a detective, so it's likely the law enforcement he was put into by Cybertron's functionalism was- *shrug* close enough. Without that, he probably would have stumbled blindly through a dozen unfulfilling occupations until someone forcibly put him in a private investigator office. And then he'd have thrived.
