SwapADHD/SWP-ID
{[For users that identify with (diagnosed or not) an ADHD subtype but wish or desire for whatever reason to have another ADHD subtype such as swapping out inattentive for hyper-active.]}

There are multiple reasons why someone would see a transabled identity and feel that it applies to them, usually being that they already have some traits of the disorder they identify as having.
Another reason I could see is that they ARE genuinely disabled and don’t know what words to use to describe their disability.
And yet another reason is that they’re genuinely disordered but identify as their condition being “better” or “worse” (transseverity). The former I’ve seen as an actual goal (much like transition) or to describe the level of severity they feel they should have, and the latter I’ve seen people identify with to feel more valid in their condition.
I can remember back in high school (2010-14) we totally would have called ourselves transDID before finding out we already WERE plural. Thing is we always suspected it and even knew of two total alters in high school.
POINT IS that even though transdisability seems weird on the surface, maybe it’s just natural progression for a normal phenomenon.
not being paralyzed or amputated makes my skin crawl

oOoO a rant about transautism-
so, in my humble opinion, as a trans and autistic person, transautistic ppl are not valid. my neurodivergence is not something you get to play around with until you get bored, or a ‘quirky trait’ you can pretend to have. it’s not something i do for fun. who i am is not an aesthetic.
if you’re transautistic, chances are you didn’t have to experience the many awful things ppl like me have to (social isolation, meltdowns, sensory issues etc.), nor do you want to. rather, you just want to be *special*. actual austistic ppl don’t get to pick and choose which symptoms they get to experience. transautistic hurt both trans ppl and autistic ppl. transautistic ppl are inheritably ableist as they only see autism as something quirky or cute, and not as something that impacts ppl with it every day.
also, may i add, there’s a considerable overlap of transid peeps and ppl who support paraphilias. ew.
sorry for going on a rant. i just saw a transautistic post, so i felt like i needed to make this.
remember: trans and autistic ppl are valid. transautistic, transage, transrace, transid and transdisability ppl aren’t.
